Meanwhile at the Lorenzi mansion both Lorenzi and D'Cruz family were sitting by the pool talking amongst themselves about everything that has happened."I just don't get it. What did we do to piss the Black serpents off?" Angelo said talking to sip of his soda.
"I'm also confused." Nico added, "I mean, they just started attacking us out of the blue, something's just not adding up here."
"Well it might be something to do with our fathers." Adrian chimed in, "We all know both our fathers have a good history of pissing people off." Adrian added.
"Guys let's just not talk about this stuff for a bit." Leonardo said his eyes pointing out Angelina.
"You're right, Leo," Angelo agreed, catching the hint and nodding subtly. "Let's focus on something else for now. We've been through enough stress lately."
"I just don't understand why we have to work together with the Cassanders. Don't you guys think they caused us enough pain." Angelina said while she stirred her drink absentmindedly. Her voice carried a mix of frustration and sadness.
Leonardo sighed, leaning back in his chair. "I get where you're coming from, Angelina. But right now, we need all the allies we can get. The Black Serpents are a bigger threat than our old grudges."
Nico nodded in agreement. "Plus, the Cassanders have resources and connections that we don't. If we want to stand a chance against the Serpents, we need to put our differences aside, at least for now."
Draco chimed in, "It's a tough pill to swallow, but survival comes first. Once this is over, we can deal with our issues with the Cassanders."
Angelina sighed, clearly still conflicted but understanding the necessity.
"Speaking about the Cassander family, Zuko and I are going to the hospital to check up on them. They did mention that two of their brothers were injured and are in the hospital." Leonardo said as he looked at Zuko.
"What!!! Angelina said in shock, her eyes widening. "You're actually going to visit them? After everything?"
"Yes, Angelina," Leonardo replied calmly, "It's the least we can do to show that we're serious about this alliance. We need to build trust, and checking on their injured is a step in that direction."
Matteo nodded in agreement. "We're all in this together now. The Black Serpents won't show mercy to any of us, so we need to be united."
Angelo leaned forward, his expression serious. "Leonardo's right. This isn't just about us anymore. It's about ensuring our families' survival. If visiting the Cassanders and showing some goodwill helps, then that's what we need to do."
Adrian added, "And who knows? Maybe this will be the start of mending old wounds. We've all lost people and suffered because of these conflicts. It's time to change that."
Angelina looked around at the determined faces of her family and friends. She took a deep breath and nodded. "Ughhh." Angelina murmured and walked away clearly irritated.
Leonardo watched Angelina walk away, feeling a pang of guilt. He understood her frustration; the wounds from their past conflicts with the Cassanders were still fresh. But he also knew that their current predicament required them to look beyond past grievances.
"She'll come around," Nico said, placing a reassuring hand on Leonardo's shoulder. "It's just a lot to take in."
"Yeah, I know," Leonardo replied, rubbing his temples. "I just hope we can pull this off without falling apart ourselves."
