CHAPTER FOUR
Back In Black

They arrived in Berlin and were met by Fury, then walked into the building to see Maria in the conference room.

"So is there anything you want to tell us about your girlfriend?" Fury asked.

"He's talking about E.D.I.T.H." Maria clarified for Peter.

But this was all getting a little weird. The atmosphere felt weird. Empty.

"Look, I know I made a mistake, and I'm sorry, but he is not who you think he is. Beck is a lie. Mysterio, the Elementals, it's all fake. He has some sort of illusion tech. And that's how he tricked you, and me into giving him E.D.I.T.H." Peter slid the projector across the table. "It's a projector. I pulled it off the fire monster in Prague."

"So all the death and destruction we witnessed was created by this?" Fury questioned.

"No, not just this. I think he's using drones."

"Well, if this is true, then Beck's very dangerous and we need to be smart. Who else did you tell about this?" Fury interrogated. "Parker? Parker!"

Peter looked out of it and Luke was looking at Maria with narrowed eyes.

"What's wrong?" Maria asked.

"It's Beck. He's here."

"What? Hill?" Maria disappeared and blue started taking over, changing everything.

"No, it's just an illu— Fury!"

Then a drone sent Peter flying away and a drone shot Luke in the side. Apparently they were outside, but Luke's vision was starting to go all weird on him. Then a gunshot rang through Luke's ears. But it didn't seem real.

"Fury." Peter said gratefully while Luke was still on the ground.

"Beck's people are trying to find everyone who could expose him. Who'd you tell?" Fury asked.

"Peter, don't." Luke grunted out, still bleeding.

"I know you told someone... so just tell me. Who did you tell? Who else did you tell?"

"Just Ned and Mj from my class. Maybe Ned told his girlfriend Betty, but that's it." Peter rambled.

"Shit." Luke cussed as 'Fury' started laughing.

"You are so gullible. You're as smart as a whip. Just a... sucker." Quentin said as Fury. "You should have listened to your boyfriend when he told you not to. And now all your friends have to die." Quentin turned back into his normal self.

And just as Luke got up finally, him and Peter were both stumbling backwards when a train hit them. They managed to get inside. But Luke practically collapsed.

Luke's eyes started to open. His vision was still a little blurry and his hearing felt a little muffled, like his ears were plugged, but they weren't.
