*SAM'S POV*

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEE-! CRACK!

I mumbled to myself, slapping my alarm clock off of my nightstand and into the wall.. Well, that's probably broken. I sat up and rubbed my eyes, trying to get them adjusted to the light that was coming in through my bedroom window.. Well.. At least it wasn't raining.. I threw my blanket off of me and swung my legs over to sit on the edge of my bed, stretching until I felt my spine pop before taking a deep breath. That felt fantastic. I stood up, grabbed some clothes and walked to the bathroom. It was gonna be a long day, I could already feel it.

I brushed my teeth, got a brisk shower to wake myself up and jumped out; I got dressed, dried my hair before styling it in a loose side brad and did my makeup a little before walking downstairs to see my sister in the kitchen "Morning, Sam!" My sister, Sidney, called out "Morning, Sid. Where's Uncle Travis?" I replied in confusion "He went in early. Wanted to get off sooner at the precinct to help with the set up process for the dance. Though, he did tell me to make sure I told you that he said he loves you and he's sorry he couldn't drop you off this morning. I can take you if you want." She answered as I sat down. "It's fine, I could use the walk.. I'll see him tonight, no big deal." I assured her.

Sidney sat some toast down on the table and handed me a glass of milk "I know you've already brushed your teeth, toothpaste and orange juice is not a good morning combo. Trust me, shit'll make you gag." She explained as I chuckled, taking a sip "Thanks, Sid. Glad to know you're looking out for me." I replied to her, picking up a piece of toast and putting some peanut butter on it. "So, you going into town today?" I asked "Yeah, I have the day off, so I'm gonna go down to help set up for the Forest Valley Dance." She explained.. I wasn't really looking forward to it, honestly..

"I hope you can have enough fun for both of us, I'm probably just gonna stay home this year.." I told her, causing her to pout. "C'mon, Sammy, you gotta go! It won't be the same if you're not there, too! Pleeeeeeeeaaase??" Sid pleaded "I'm one of the only people left who doesn't have a date and the dance is tomorrow. I don't have time now." I explained "Well, what about Kerry? Does he have a date yet?" She asked "I don't think so, no.. But, I couldn't ask Kerry, he never goes to these things." I answered as she raised an eyebrow, giving me a look.

"Samantha Adrian Munroe. Girl, Kerry Bennett has been one of your best friends since you two were in the fifth grade. Ask him to the dang dance already." Sid told me "I can't, Sid.. What if he says no? It could ruin our whole friendship if he finds out that I like him." I told her, taking another bite of my breakfast, my sister scoffing at my comment "Listen to me, Sam.. You have absolutely nothing to worry about. If to no one else in Forest Valley, Kerry would say yes to you. I've seen the way he looks at you, same way dad still looks at mom." She told me..

I'd love to go with him, but.. If I lost him as my friend, that would be the worst day of my life! "I don't know.. I just don't think I can take that chance.. I gotta go, I'm meeting Leah and Joey by the fountain before class to talk about the dance.. I'll see you later, Sid." I told her, finishing my glad of milk and standing up from the table, grabbing an extra piece of toast. "Okay, okay, but think about what I said!" Sid called after me as I hurried out the door, the bread between my teeth as I closed the gate behind me.
