*TRAVIS'S POV*
I grabbed myself a cup of coffee and began walking back to my desk. I hope Sam and Sid were having fun, they looked just like their mother in the picture Sidney had sent me before they headed out, but I haven't heard anything out of them since. Must've been having fun. "Heard anything else out of your girls, Travis?" Officer Miller asked "Nah, they promised to let me know when they were leaving, though." I answered. Officer Felicity Miller, she watched Samantha and Sidney grow up when they would spend time at the precinct.
"Sam get to go out with Kerry Bennett?" Deputy Jasper Burke asked "Oh, yeah. She was so excited.. That smile, you could just see Laura. Spitting image." I answered. Laura Munroe, their mother, was my older sister. When I took Sam and Sid in, they wanted the name. I wasn't gonna object. "I gotta get back to work, those files won't sort themselves." Burke said, patting my upper arm before beginning to walk away.. That's when I heard it..
I heard horrible beating sounds on the door and the most incoherent, yet exhausted, screams. "What the hell??" Miller asked "That sounds like Charlotte King..!" I answered, running and opening the door to see an exhausted and absolutely filthy Charlotte fall in the door. I caught her from falling to the ground as she continued to cry "Travis! .. Travis, you have to help them! .. You have to get out to the rec center, please!" She cried, talking about a hundred miles an hour as I got her sitting down in a chair "Burke, get some water. Hurry." I ordered "You got it." He replied, running to the break room.
"Charlie, calm down.. You're safe.." I assured her as she continued crying. "B-But, they aren't.." She answered. I felt my heart drop and my blood run cold "What do you mean?" I asked "I-I escaped through the air vent.. Someone is killing them! .. W-William Silver is dead, Travis! I-I don't know how many are left, I-I got out and ran straight here.." She explained "Sir, that's like four miles going straight through the woods, not even counting how the roads wind.." Miller said as I stood up.
"Miller, you stay here with Charlie. Contact all available units, the fire department, and EMS." I ordered "Yes, sir!" She replied as Burke came back with the water and gave it to Charlotte "Burke, you're with me." I told him "You got it." He said, getting his keys. There was just one more thing I had to know.. "Charlie.. Did you see Sam or Sidney?" I asked "S-Sidney ran out to find Sam.. She screamed and we haven't seen her since.." She answered.. Oh, no.. I immediately ran out of the building and headed straight for my truck..
I jumped in and Jas jumped in the passenger seat before the wheels began spinning. I peeled out of the parking lot, the tires audibly squealing against the pavement. Screw reckless driving, if something is said, I'll give myself a freakin ticket. "Jas, get Evan Bennett on the phone, tell him what's going on." I ordered "But, sir.. He isn't a cop." Burke told me "No, but he's an old friend. And if his kids are in trouble, I'm not leaving him or Maria in the dark. Tell them I'll meet them at the hospital." I replied "Yes, sir." He said, getting his phone.. Let's just hope it's not too late..
