*SAM'S POV*
We carefully headed up the stairs, though I had to help Joey walk.. After his tumble down the stairs, he wasn't in the best of shape.. He messed up his ankle, he had a gash on his arm, his head was bleeding.. He needed help.. "Joey, don't worry, we're gonna get you help." Jess assured "I-I'm tired, you guys.." Joey said, sounding groggy "He needs water, Jess. He has a concussion, he needs to stay hydrated." Kerry told her.. "He's right.. It's helps maintain the balance of fluids in the brain.." I added "It does?" She asked as I nodded "Okay, let's get Leah and we'll get him to the water fountain." She said.. I hope Leah was okay..
We made it to the library and walked inside "Leah? .. Leah, it's safe now!" Jess called.. Honestly, I was terrified.. I saw a silhouette walk from behind a bookshelf.. Almost.. Staggering? "K-Kerry..?" A weak voice called as the figure came into the light before collapsing. I screamed and Kerry lost his mind "Leah! Leah, no!" He screamed, breaking away from Jess and running straight to his sister "You left her! You bitch, you said she was safe!" Kerry screamed "N-No.. No, no, I-I forgot.. Leah tried to warn me.." Jess said, tears running down her cheeks. Kerry looked back at Jess.
"What did she warn you about, Jess? What did you forget to tell us?" I asked as Jess shook her head. "Kerry.. I'm so sorry.. I-I forgot to tell you.." She said before stabbing him in the stomach, holding the knife tightly in place "No!" I screamed, reaching out for him "Kerry!" Joey yelled. T-This couldn't be happening.. I-It was just a bad dream! Jess chuckled, holding Kerry up so he wouldn't fall over. "Oh, Kerry.. I tried to warn you before, but you just wouldn't listen. You were easy to put the blame on. I didn't want it to come to this, but you see, if I can't have you.. No one can." Jess explained before letting him fall to the ground, dropping the knife to the floor.
"Sammy, Sammy, Sammy.. You could've avoided this. This is all your fault." Jess said as tears continued running down my face "H-How is this my fault??" I asked as she pulled Kerry's knife out of her pocket. How come her dress got pockets?! You know what? Now was not the time! "It's simple. ... You didn't die in the crash that killed your parents." She answered. I stepped back before hearing the door to the library close "It's about time you got here." Jess snapped. I looked back to see.. W-What..? "Well, excuse me. I had to wait until your stupid monologue was over." Ethan spat back before looking at me "Sorry about your sister, Sam. She really was hot." He said as I glared.. What were we supposed to do now..?
"I'll finish off these two. You make sure there aren't any more survivors hiding around on any of the other floors." Jess said as Ethan left out of the room.. I backed against the wall, Jess walking toward us.. Big mistake. "Joey.. I'm sorry.." I whispered, throwing him into the door, knocking it open "Joey! The Roof!" I yelled, grabbing the book return cart and shoving it into her before running out of the room after Joey. I shoved a broom in the way of the door, giving us time to get up the stairs "Go, go, go! Don't slow down!" I cried, helping Joey to the roof.
"Sam, I-I'm sorry about all of this.. Really, I am.." Joey said, a tear even falling from his eye "Listen to me Joey, I just want you to promise me one thing, okay? Just one.." I told him as he nodded "Anything." He said "Please don't die on me.." I told him. He nodded in response "Hey, they didn't call me the forest tick for nothing. A couple of overly confident homicidal jackasses can't keep me down.. You're stuck with me, Samantha Munroe." He assured. I smiled and hid him against the backside of the stairs.. I just hope this will hold until help arrives..
