*KERRY'S POV*
I parked and helped Sam off the back before looking in one of the saddlebags on the side of the bike "Kerry, what are you doing?" Sam asked me "Just looking for something." I answered, pulling out a tire iron "I'll be right back." I told her before walking ahead. "Ohh, no!' She told me, running ahead and walking backwards while facing me "We are not using that on anyone! Put the weapon down and we can just talk!" She continued "Oh, there's gonna be some talking, don't you worry about a thing." I assured her as we got to Joey's apartment.
I banged on the door and heard scurrying coming from the other side "Kerry, you don't have to do this. Let's just see if we can talk this out like the civil people we are." Sam told me. I looked over at her, seeing the worry in her eyes. "Don't worry, Sam. I just want to talk with him." I assured her before banging on the door again. "Yo Alex, have you seen Will?" I called through the wooden door "U-Uh, hey, Kerry! No, I haven't, why do you ask?" I heard Joey's nervous voice reply through the door "Unfortunately, as the law states in the unspoken code of big brothers, I am morally obligated to kill him." I answered. Earning a smack to the arm by Sam.
"Kerry!" Sam scolded as I looked over at her "You need to calm down!" She practically growled at me, I shrugged in response "Y-You know, man.. I really don't think I can be complacent in a homicide right now." Joey's voice shakily explained. I sighed and shook my head "The way I see it Joey, you're either complacent in a homicide or the victim of one. Your choice." I replied, hitting the door again "Kerry, calm down before someone calls the cops!" Sam told me, grabbing my tire iron out of my hand. "Listen to me. This isn't getting us anywhere, so here's what's gonna happen. I'm gonna talk to William and you are gonna stand out here and cool off before you get yourself in trouble. Okay?" Sam explained.
I was about to protest when I noticed she was looking up at me with sad eyes.. Unfortunately, not even the strongest of people could resist when Samantha Munroe looked up at them with those big brown sad eyes.. "Fine." I finally caved. Sam grinned up at me before knocking on the door, while I leaned against the wall with my arms crossed "Joey? It's just me. Kerry is gonna stay outside, but I wanna talk to you guys." She said through the door "He still got that tire iron?" Joey's voice asked "No, I have it. You're safe." She answered before the door was opened and she was snatched inside.
You know, honestly I'm kinda regretting bringing her along. Could've gotten way more answers if it would've just been me here by myself.
*SAM'S POV*
"Ow!" I squeaked, holding my shoulder with a pout "Sorry, just had to be quick about it." Joey said, standing aside to let me into the living room "So, what exactly happened? Why does Kerry think that Will cheated on Leah?" I asked "I tried to tell her that it wasn't what it looked like!" I heard yell from the bathroom, causing me to jump "Will??" I asked as the bathroom door cracked open, revealing that it was, indeed, William. "Then talk to me. I wanna know what really happened." I told him as he sighed, opening the door and walking out.
We all sat down in the living room and I set the tire iron down on the coffee table "It was supposed to be a surprise.." Will said "...What was?" I asked, completely confused by the whole situation "I bought a necklace for Leah, but I wanted to get it engraved with a small message on each side.. The girl she saw me hugging was Emily Tills, a classmate of mine whose parents own a jewelry store and she said that she would get it done for me.. I tutored her into an A in biology all last semester and she's been getting straight A's ever since. She was happy to do it, because she loved the idea and said that it would be a perfect gift for Leah." Will explained.
I was still a little confused, though.. "Kerry said that Leah told him something about gaslighting?" I more asked than stated "I told her that she had nothing to worry about and that she was the only girl for me, which was actually the truth. I would never cheat on Leah, Sam.. I love her more than anything." He explained.. Now, I felt horrible.. "Is there any way you could prove it? Not for my sake, but to calm Kerry down?" I asked "Yeah, I have an appointment card to go pick up the necklace at 3, it even has what I wanted written on it." He answered, showing it to me "Side 1: Leah, you are the rain that waters my soul. I love you. ~ Will. ... Side 2: Will you marry me?" The note read.. That was actually beautiful!
"Aww, William! She's gonna flip!" I said, almost squealing. "I just hope she accepts." Will replied "Oh, I guarantee she will!" I assured before running to the front door and snatching Kerry inside. Will was hiding behind Joey and Joey had a lamp in hand. "Look!" I chirped, handing him the appointment card. He looked at it before going wide eyed and looking at Will "I would never cheat on Leah, Kerry. You should know that." Will explained. I looked back to Kerry who put his head down "And I should've talked to you about it as well. I'm sorry, Will.." Kerry told him "I get it, man. Leah is your baby sister.. To be honest, I would've done the same thing." Will replied "We cool?" Kerry asked as Joey and I stood there, excitedly. Will smiled and nodded "Yeah, we cool." He answered "Go on, hug it out." I told them.
I was grabbed and pulled in the middle "Group hug!" Joey yelled, causing everyone to laugh. I knew there was one thing I could say for sure.. I had the greatest friends in the whole world!
