"I'm sorry, Regina's doing what?"

Emma and Brooklyn both followed their father inside the loft, Mary Margaret just behind them. "She's going undercover." David explained, Brooklyn letting her eyes grow wide.

"With somebody who can turn into a dragon? Have you both gone insane?"

"Why didn't touch call us?" Emma asked, looking between her parents, her voice raised.

"We didn't have time. She told us the plan, that was it."

Emma turned to her father, her tone serious. "You should have told me."

"Why? You really think you could have stopped her?"

"I could've helped. We both could have helped." Emma pointed to her sister, the young woman stayed quiet. "Brooke was basically raised by Peter freakin' Pan. You've seen how stealthy she is. And, I was a bail bonds-person. Pretending to be someone else was part of my job."

"I know that." Mary Margaret gave her eldest a knowing look, her head tilted a little. "But, I really think Regina can take care of herself."

Crossing her arms, Brooklyn spoke up. "I hope you're right." She looked between the two. "When was she supposed to update you guys?"

When the two didn't answer her, Emma grew more worried. "Mom, dad, when was she supposed to check in?"

David sighed. "About an hour ago." The two stayed quiet, Emma's eyes going more wide than before, both of them staring at their father shocked.

"Hey, where here."

Brooklyn watched as Regina moved from behind the bookcase of the library, looking to the group, annoyed. She had ran into Mary Margaret and David a few hours earlier, not explaining much of her previous nights chaos to them.

"I said we needed to meet covertly. Now, I see you've brought the entire Charming softball team, and their pirate and thief mascots."

"We were worried about you." Brooklyn muttered, leaning against the bookshelf.

"Well, then worry quickly. I can't be seen with all of you."

Emma turned to her friend, voice serious. "Regina, listen to me. This is a bad idea. This woman, this dragon, she's dangerous. And you..don't know the first thing about going undercover."

"I'm a quick study." She defended. "And, Maleficent already told me, why they're here." She gave them a short look, taking a second.  "Apparently, they're after the Author, too. I simply want him to change my fate."

"What do they want?" Emma asked.

"They wanna shift the entire balance, so that villains win and heroes lose. They feel the only way to get their happy ending, if to destroy yours."

Tilting her head a little, Brooklyn questioned. "You think they could find this Author?"

"They have a lead we don't. And, tonight, they want to help them steal it." Smiling sadly, Regina shrugged a little. "Whatever 'it's is."

"I'm telling you, these things never end well."

Looking to the blonde, Regina sighed. "I understand your concern, but I'm in."

Looking back to her parents, Emma sent them a knowing one. "Okay. Well, then I'm in, too."

Brooklyn smiled, raising her arm. "Count me in, also."
