THE SECOND SALEAH STEPPED INTO THE TRAIN HER MIND WAS BLOWN. There was tons of food there, all for them.
"Sit children, sit!" Crystal, the escort urged the two tributes.
Craig wasted no time, immediately making his way to the table, plopping himself down in one of the chairs before stuffing his face full.
Saleah raised her eyebrows, but sat anyway. She stared at the food suspiciously.
In District 11, they had an abundance of food, they delt with agriculture, after all..but even though they had tons of food, they never got to see much of it on their dinner tables. They had to provide for the Capitol of course.
Many people in the district had gotten in big trouble for taking extra food, not a soul dared to defy the Capitol after a local family was caught smuggling extra fruits and vegetables. They were all imprisoned, except the father who was shot dead by a peacekeeper on sight when he was caught sneaking out with several garbage bags of the stolen produces.
It was horrible, to say the least.
"Aren't you going to eat?" Craig asked the girl in front of him.
"What if they shoot us? We aren't supposed to go over our rationed amount of food." She replied.
Crystal spoke up, "Honey, you aren't in 11 anymore, you can eat all you want!"
Saleah eyed the woman, "Why would I trust what you say? You're from the Capitol." She mumbled the last part.
Crystal frowned, "Well then..let me go fetch your mentors..." The lady scurried down the hallway of the train.
Craig and Saleah sat in silence (well besides the sounds of Craig's chewing), until Crystal returned with two of the former victors, their mentors.
"May I introduce Orna Thorn and Eddy Hardwood, two previous District 11 victors! Orna and Eddy, meet Craig and Saleah." Crystal exclaimed with an excited clap.
"It's nice to meet you both." Orna spoke with a small smile on her face, almost a sad one.
Eddy spoke, "Well, let's get to business, shall we?"

After speaking with their mentors briefly about the games, the mentors and tributes went to the lounge room in the train to watch the reapings of the other tributes.
From District 1 both the tributes had volunteered, as usual. The boy, Greene Smule, was rather muscular and bulky. He had a cocky smirk on his face as he took the stage, it made Saleah shiver.
The girl from District 1, Faye Vicks. She was all beauty, no extra muscle or anything, but you could tell she was well fed and kept. Her jet black hair was neat and pulled up into a half up-half down pony, two flyways whipped around her face as she brought up her hands (with neatly painted white polish on her nails) and waved towards the cameras.
