Will hadn't contacted Nico. He knew he needed to, Gods Lou and Rachel wouldn't let him forget it. But he just couldn't bring himself to do it.

Then he told himself that if he couldn't text Nico, he'd talk to him the next time he saw him in person. But it was like Nico wasn't working anymore, it had been two and a half weeks since Will had made the biggest mistake of his life and he hadn't seen Nico in passing once.

So he'd spent the past week moping. Not only over his mess of a love life but over the success of ANGEL's latest album. It was good, too good, and Will found himself doubting his own release.

He'd expected to at least be able to mope to ANGEL's typically sad lyrics of unrequited love but it seemed ANGEL was experiencing better luck in his love life than Will. He'd barely been able to listen to the album, feeling unjustifiably jealous of the anonymous artist who seemingly hadn't screwed up his chance at happiness.

The media was eating it up, ANGEL's album had broken streaming records and was still, to this day, trending.

Will wasn't blind to the success of his own album, its streams were at an all time high, his name was in articles and he'd been offered several interviews with big magazines. It was just a different kind of hype. The world was, put simply, infatuated by the concept of the broody anonymous artist finding love and being terrified to lose it.

Whereas, Will being optimistic, happy and falling in love - well, that was expected, unsurprising, nothing noteworthy.

So when Will's plan to mope to his rival's depressing songs fell through, Will wasn't too proud to admit he'd begun to linger in the hallways of the DOA. And when he still didn't catch a glimpse of Nico, well he might have frequented some of the videos of Nico performing with The Seven. It had only served to increase his longing.

For all his obsessing over Nico these past weeks it was a wonder Will didn't consider that he'd be in attendance at the record label's speech night, until he saw him. Hedge had briefed Will, telling him it was a night to celebrate the achievements of the year so far. Will was nervous enough - some of the biggest names in music were in the room with him - but his nerves tripled when his eyes found Nico across the room.

And holy shit did he look good in a full black tailored suit. He was leaned against a marbled pillar of the events hall, looking vaguely disinterested in the crowd around them. Reyna, who had been stood stoically beside him, leaned down to murmur something in his ear which caused irritation to flash across Nico's face as he looked toward the doors.
