In the hospital bed, surrounded by books that Bas had brought, Bill snuggled closer to me, his warmth and affection felt in every fiber of my being. Together we flipped through the pages, occasionally interrupted by infectious giggles and mischievous smiles shared between us. It felt like a precious moment of relaxation amidst all the turmoil and worries.
Before we started looking at the books together, I had told Bill the whole story of what had happened. His reaction was visible, his gaze filled with a mixture of anger and concern. But he assured me that he would find a way to punish David without using violence. His reassuring words brought me a sense of relief and safety.
With Bill by my side, my worries and stress disappeared like snow in the sun. His mere presence was healing, and I felt blessed to have him next to me during this difficult time. Meanwhile, Jacob sat at a small table, quiet and alert, his presence a comfort to both of us.
Later that afternoon, the doctor came by again to check my blood pressure. Her smile was approving when she saw that my blood pressure had dropped and was back to normal. "You have an enormous positive effect on her health," she remarked, nodding towards Bill. His loving smile at me confirmed her words.
We even managed to arrange for Bill to stay with me in the hospital that night, as he would have to leave early the next morning to return to South Africa to finish the music video for "Automatic." He hadn't wanted to leave, but I convinced him that the video needed to be finished and that I was in good hands with Jacob by my side. Eventually, he agreed to fly back to the rest of Tokio Hotel the next day.
Evening came, and Jacob entered to tell me he had arranged a cot with the nurses so he could sleep in the hallway. "Jacob, please, you don't have to sleep in the hallway," I protested immediately. But he shook his head resolutely. "No, no, I want to give you some privacy," he replied kindly.
I looked at him worriedly, knowing he was sacrificing himself to leave us alone. "But you don't have to go to any trouble; we can have some privacy without you sleeping in the hallway," I tried again. Jacob smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry, it's no trouble at all," he assured me.
I turned to Bill, seeking support in my plea. "Bill, say something," I asked, hoping he could convince Jacob not to sleep in the hallway. But Bill just shrugged. "Jacob does what he wants," he replied nonchalantly.
I sighed in frustration. It seemed Jacob had made up his mind and Bill wouldn't change it. Finally, I decided to let Jacob go with a thank you and a promise to treat him to breakfast the next morning. He smiled kindly and then disappeared into the hallway, leaving Bill and me alone in the room.
I felt Bill's warmth as we lay together in the hospital bed. I nestled against his chest, running my fingers through his sparse chest hair. A deep sigh escaped his lips, and I knew he was going through a storm of emotions just like I was.
"I don't think I could have controlled myself if David had done something to you," he said, his voice trembling with emotion. I looked up to see him right in the eyes, seeing the intensity of his gaze as he looked at me.
"He's completely obsessed with the other Elise," I sighed, my thoughts a jumble of fear and frustration. Bill's arms tightened around my waist, as if he wanted to protect me from all the lurking dangers.
He began to kiss me slowly, his lips soft and tender against mine. My desire grew with each touch, each heartbeat that echoed between us. He stopped the kiss and looked at me with a gaze that made my heart skip a beat. "Elise, I've missed you so much," he whispered, his voice filled with emotion. Without hesitation, I responded to his words by pressing my lips back to his.
"Hmm, Elise, not here in the hospital?" he remarked with a laugh, but his wink betrayed the spark of desire burning between us. I looked back at him seductively, my heart pounding in my chest. "Jacob is sleeping in the hallway," I smiled back, knowing we actually had a moment to ourselves.
But to my surprise, Bill suddenly pulled back, a look of concern in his eyes. "Are you sure, Elise? After everything you've been through?" he asked, his voice filled with doubt and care. My heart was briefly confused by his reaction, but when I saw his concerned look, I knew he only wanted the best for me.
"Bill, I only want you, and I want it now," I whispered, my voice filled with desire and determination. And with those words, I looked at him, hoping he could see my sincere feelings in my eyes and understand that now, more than ever, I needed his presence.
