My body froze completely and soon Mira and Hernando's voiced blared through.

"Hernine, are you okay?"

"Hernine, get out of there."

"Fuck the mission, dove, run."

"I'm sending Juan over."

I took a deep breath and saw a shadowy figure in the forests. My hushed yet nonchalant voice soon echoed in the earpiece.

"Whatever it is, carry out the mission. It's an order."

And with that I took off my earpiece, pressing the emergency button by which the whole chip inside gets obliterated, so no one can further use it or extract data from it. I crushed it under my feet and soon saw a small spark of it under the sand.

Good riddance.

All this happened in the span of 5 seconds, before a person came rushing towards me.

But I was prepared.

As soon as I felt hands around my biceps, I hunched over and grabbed the person's hand that dared touch me, flipping them over my back and kicking them off.

The hot headed person -whom I soon made out with the little moon light I had, was a man- landed on his feet, quickly and ran towards me attacking my waist and off we went onto the ground. I elbowed his nose and heard a crack and as his hand instinctively went to hold the now broken bone, I kicked his shin and then giving him an uppercut on his jaw and round kicking his face.

Safe to say, he was now heaving and wheezing on the sand, the sand around him grainy and red due to his blood.

I stared at him, my own breaths heaving; my adrenaline on peek. Slowly backing away as I planned to make a run for it, but as I turned around, my feet stopped when a figure stood directly behind me.

I stumbled a bit while backing up and saw a person with crossed arms, black attire, black gloved hands, auburn eyes and a wicked expression, watching me.

Fuck.

My heavy breaths were what could be heard before slow mocking claps filled the surrounding silence and I watched the person in front of me with wide eyes.

"Great skills, gem. Great skills."

A thick Italian accent lined a voice as I was slowly backing away but my back softly collided with a hard one and I glanced to find not one, not two but almost twelve very built, all black attired men standing behind me, legs apart, shoulders high, hands in front and deadly expressions on their face.

"No way out, gem."

"Stop calling me that." I gritted out.

Who does this Italian dude think he is mocking me?
