Dark black swirled inside those auburn eyes upon close inspection and I felt his hands on my waist and my lower back while mine clutched his shoulders.

"If I hear you disrespect me, once more..." He left his threat hanging and my heart hammered when his eyes narrowed as his gaze wandered my face.

His eyes left mine before he looked behind me and gave a single nod at the door.

I heard the door closing and as if that took me out of my trance, I pushed him away.

"Don't touch me," I shrugged my hair and clothes as if his touch was disgusting.

As if?

"And let me out of here, why am I trapped like a prisoner?"

He stared at me and his jaw clenched. "Who are you?"

"Let me go."

"I will, once you answer me." His thick italian accent would have me swooning but I just wanted to punch him.

I gulped staring right into his eyes that didn't give anything away. He seemed mysterious yet amused ever since I had seen him.

Giving up as I was in a much vulnerable position than he was, I sighed a sigh of defeat, "What do you want to know?"

I saw his mouth curl upwards for a fraction before his hands dug in his suit pocket and he sat down on the previously large bed, that now looked small with him on it.

"Your name?"

"Hernine."

"Full... Name."

My left eye twitched. "That's all you're getting out of me."

He stared at me as I leaned against the wall in front of the bed and he leaned a bit back too, like he was reading me.

"I want to know why a person like you, all strapped up in weapons, an earpiece tucked in as if a spy, such great fighting skills, seeing that my right hand man is now in the hospital, was doing that night in my territory where no being has ever been."

I pursed my lips, contemplating.

"Seeing you like that, I'm no idiot to not have figured out that you are a cartel member or either belong to a gang.... So, which one is it?"

I narrowed my eyes at him and leaned off the wall, straightening up. "Who are you?"

He rolled his eyes as if that was the most irrelevant question ever. "You're in my country, yet the disrespect. Tsk."

My eyes widened and I almost gasped, but composed myself.

No.
Fucking.
Way.

"You're the capo?"

He tilted his head. "Glad to see you're not knuckleheaded, gem."

My eyes rolled automatically at that god forsaken endearment.
