"Amadio."

He walked straight to me, leaning against the table as he stared down at me.

"Do you need anything? Coffee?"

"I'm good."

I nodded, motioning for him to sit. He obliged.

I never wanted his help. We had been fine but we definitely needed another cartel to accommodate us.

The greeks would have taken days to get here. Couldn't risk it.

The best bet were the Italians and if I wanted to help my people, I needed Amadio in on this.

I gaslighted myself that I wasn't weak if I did it for my people. Manipulation at it's finest.

"You look...."

"I know." I sighed, "I just want to fucking hole a bullet in that bastard's head, Mató a uno mío y le faltó el respeto a mi mafia. ese hijo de puta va a morir."
(He killed one of mine and disrespected my mob. That son of a bitch is going to die.)

Amadio stared at me, and I took a sharp breath.

"He's jumping on a jet for Mexico today, he wants to run and let his men do his dirty work for him, which is killing me, I want to ambush his warehouses in Italy. He has fifteen of those. We can raid all of them. While me and my snipers are going to ambuscade his jet."

"You're not killing him, Hernine."

"Well fuck yes, I am, Amadio."

Amadio leaned towards me, his eyes calculating. "Listen to me, you kill their leader, they'll start a war- they might be a small cartel but they can cause a hefty damage and more lives will be lost. We don't want that, Sì?"

I nodded as I licked my lips, my mouth dry.

"We're going to ambush their warehouses, that's balance, and then we'll have a nice talk... A talk, Hernine. Don't look at me like that. We're gonna have a talk with Arturo and get him to agree. He doesn't, we shoot the guy to a corpse."

I shook my head but he didn't acknowledge me and continued. "We have their guards submit and we take them over, it's game over for them. You get your revenge and no war is started."

I looked away from him, my eyes staring into nothing as I formed the plan he had, putting it to images in my mind.

"What if that doesn't work?"

"It will. Their guards will submit once their leader is dead, and if their leader doesn't die and corporate, it's a win-win.... Don't be rash, gem, let's be tactical."

My attention was earned by his words and I looked at him. My eyes scanned him to see his ever looking flawless face, his auburn eyes that were hit by the sun as he sat opposite to the window, was alluring and had I not been this tensed, I would have done something, we both would have regretted.
