Y'all--I am SO sorry! I'm in a bit of a crazy period of life and have been in and out of my house, so I forgot to upload Friday's chapter. Thank you so much to those who remind me, I need it <3
I'll have Friday's uploaded on time, and can't wait for you to read!
"We'll keep the base on lock-down and watch for any incoming projectiles," Adcox said gravely.
But Simon was barely listening.
His mind was on the man in the room a few doors away. How he'd laughed when the bombs landed.
Simon already made clear that he was going to be the one to question him, with no arguments from the rest of the boys—if anything there was encouragement.
"How many hostiles were captured?"
"Two," Price answered. "Laakso is conducing their interviews right now. We'll send you a report when he's finished."
"Good. Any word on how many were hurt?"
"Not yet, we're still waiting for numbers, but we had six helos full of stretchers, and medical is full here, so the numbers aren't looking good."
"How is Parker doing?"
"He seems alright, just shaken from the blast, but there shouldn't be any lasting injuries."
"Good to hear. Update me on any news with Lieutenant Farrell, I'm hoping she has a speedy recovery."
Simon clenched his jaw.
"We'll begin to question the prisoners, see if they know anything about the attack."
The door to their office pushed open and Laakso entered, brows pulled. "Is the line secure?"
"Yes," Price answered.
"Sorry to interrupt, but I just came from lock-up and the two other prisoners are gone. We believe the attackers were successful in breaking them out."
