It was nearly two in the morning when her phone began buzzing, urging her from her sleep.

"Hello?" she asked, worry lacing her words.

"Hey, sweetheart, I'm sorry if I woke you up."

"It's okay," she said quietly as she sat up, "is everything okay?"

"Everything is fine, we just finished early. You mind if I come over? I need to see you. And get a shower."

"Course, m'love," she agreed gently. "You hurt?"

"There was a spat, but none of it's my blood. Try to sleep again, I shouldn't be too long."

She hummed, laying back down. "See you soon," she mumbled.

"Bye, darlin'."

As she shut the phone off, she tried to muster her energy to stay awake for when he got in, but she couldn't manage it. Those fucking injuries sapped her energy—so the next thing she knew, she felt an arm slipping around her waist.

She turned, curling into Simon as he pulled her closer. "Hey," she mumbled.

He let out a shaky breath before his lips pressed against her head. "I love you."

She smiled a little, "Love you too, Simon."

Drew awoke to the feeling of fingers brushing gently against her skin. It was relaxing, enough to keep her eyes shut as she smiled into Simon's chest. "Morning," she hummed quietly.

"Good morning," he said back, fingers not stilling.

She continued to lay there, sitting in the blissful warmth. "How was the mission last night?"

"Got what I needed," he explained gently, but without further details.

"You said there was a spat? What happened?"

"Nothing you need to worry about..."

She finally opened her eyes, only to roll them with a small smile. "I'm eventually going to be back at work, you might as well tell me details."

He tilted his head to look at her before gently tugging her on top of him more. "Well until then, you can sit pretty—or lay pretty, just like you're doing."

"You're such a pain in the ass," she chided as she rested her chin on his chest. "I'm bored here, you know."

"Don't worry, you'll be back on base before you know it, walkin' around like you own the place."

She huffed, lifting herself carefully. "What time is it?"

"Half eleven."

She raised a brow, "Jesus, I sleep too much now. Why didn't you wake me up?"

"Couldn't. You were too peaceful."

"Well, how long were you awake for? You could have gone and ate breakfast or something."

"You tryna get rid of me?" he asked as he sat up.

"I'm trying to be considerate," she argued.

He leaned forward until they were only a few inches apart. "I wanted to be with you," he said gently.

Her heart twisted at that, remembering him saying the same thing last night. "Everything okay?"

His eyes flicked between hers, "Yah."

She nodded, kissing him gently. "Just let me know if it's not, alright? You can talk to me."

"I promise," he said gently, his hand cupping her cheek, "everything is fine."
