Our beach day ends after burying Tucker in the sand. We contemplated just ditching him, but decided not to after Sonja realized he had their room key.
After about 10 minutes of digging him out and getting washed off, our shuttle driver picked us up. He said his name was Michael, and he moved here from California.
"We are having a party tonight, at my house. There will be fireworks, food, drinks, a waterslide for the kids- you're welcome to come if you'd like" Michael says as he turns into our hotel parking lot. I look at everyone, and they nod in approval.
"That would be great! What time?" Jordan asks.
"Around 6 tonight. I will give you my phone number, you can text me when you're about to leave, and I can come pick you up in the shuttle"
He writes down his number on a piece of paper, and opens the door for us. "I hope to see you soon!"
I turn around and wave at him as he drives off, then head inside with the others.

After showering, I straighten my hair and put on a tank top and shorts. I don't care if this party is supposed to be formal- it's freaking hot outside. Of course, Jordan puts on his black shirt and green shorts, and I dress Boo in a bathing suit for the waterslide. By the time we're done, it's already 5, so we text Michael and head to the other room, to tell them to come downstairs. Unfortunately, Boo wouldn't let us just leave them.
So we head downstairs together, squeezing into a crowded elevator (someone farted, and it took all my will power not to laugh and cry at the same time), and waiting on the outside benches. When he finally showed up, he introduced us to his wife Sydney, and his little girl Katie. Boo sat with her, since they were around the same age, and they talked non-stop about the most random things I've heard in my life- I think the topic of pink unicorns popped up once or twice.
After about 30 minutes, we pulled into the driveway of a huge house, almost the size of a mansion, and stared in awe as Michael parked the car. Different colored lights could be seen flashing through the windows, and everyone was so loud you could hear them from outside. I don't think any of us expected the party to be this big, but we went along with it anyways, which was probably a big mistake.
We all piled in through the front door, except for Boo and Katie, because Sydney took them to the back for the waterslide. As soon as we got inside, I regretted coming.
We were immediately pulled apart, and I couldn't find anyone else. "JORDAN!!" I yell loudly, but the sounds of screaming people and loud music drown my voice out. I push my way through people and find a punch bowl, pouring myself some punch and walking around. Luckily, I bump into Sonja.
"Sonja, this is way too many people" I say a little worried. She seems to be having fun.
"Erin, loosen up a bit. Have some fun!"
"But Sonj-" I start to say, but she's gone. I sigh, and take a sip of my drink.
Suddenly, some guy comes and smacks my butt. I instinctively turn around and smack him. It's some random dude with blonde hair, who is obviously very drunk.
"What the hell are you doing?! I have a boyfriend, so keep your damn hands to yourself" I yell at him. I turn around to walk away, but he yanks me by the shoulder. "Where are you going, honey?"
"You're drunk. Stop it"
"I'm not drunk, you idiot!!"
"Then you should understand I am not going to hook up with you, nor do I like you in any way, shape or form. So piss off"
He leans in to kiss me, but I fling my drink in his face, and leave. I find the stairs and climb to the top, all the way up to the roof, where there's a balcony overlooking the backyard. I watch the kids slide down the waterslide, waiting for Boo to go, but she never does. Where's Boo?
I feel a tap on my shoulder, and turn around with my fist clenched, very ready to fight. But it's Jordan, with a sleeping Boo on his back. "We were trying to find you, but it was way too crowded. So we came up here, and on the way she fell asleep"
I was so excited to see him, without thinking, I kissed him.
It probably lasted longer than necessary, and I didn't realize what I did until a couple seconds after. We both sat there in shock. "I just did that." I say in disbelief. "You did." He replies. A firework goes off, and we can't help but laugh.
Holy crap. I just did that.
