Yeosang looked out over the sea, keeping on the lookout for anything out of the ordinary. Once he saw something, he looked below him and whistled. Hongjoong looked up and Yeosang would make some signal indicating what he had seen. There were several, all agreed upon by Hongjoong and Yeosang. Like one for land, storm, enemy or ally, and a bunch others. It was easier than yelling back and forth to each other all the time.

"Which one was that?" Yunho looked over at Hongjoong, stopping his sweeping. It was his turn to clean the deck but he was getting help from Wooyoung and Mingi as punishment for the two for something they had done. Mingi was helping sweep while Wooyoung mopped the deck and complained about it the whole time.

"Storm. We need to turn around" Hongjoong answered, already turning the wheel but it was too late. The storm was too close to them. It wasn't even the worst one that they would have been through but there was a reason why Hongjoong didn't want to go through this one. It was because of what part of the ocean they were currently sailing on.

"We can go through it. It's just a bit of rain and thunder" Mingi pointed out but Hongjoong was adamant that they go the other way. The storm took them over, pushing the ship to the left and right and spinning it in circles.

"This is not the storm doing that!" Seongwha noted. Hongjoong gritted his teeth, trying to steer and failing.

"No, it's not! It's the Dark Sea. That's where we are. Rule number twenty about being a pirate, never get caught in a storm on the Dark Sea" Hongjoong responded sharply.

"How many rules are there?!" Mingi wondered.

"More than you can count!" Wooyoung answered for him, grabbing a rope that went flying past, leading up to one of the sails.

"Yunho, watch out!" Yeosang yelled, sliding down to the main deck without barely touching the ladder. He turned just in time to see a wooden beam crack from the mast and go flying off the ship, hitting Yunho on the way and sending him overboard.

"Yunho!" Mingi screamed, running to the edge of the ship but there was no sign of Yunho in the dark, churning waters. Hongjoong cursed under his breath, continuing to steer the ship away from the storm.

"We can't leave him!" Seongwha yelled, his head turning to face Hongjoong.

"If we stay in here, the whole ship will be torn apart" Hongjoong yelled back. Seongwha went up and grabbed the wheel.

"We never leave a man behind" He ordered, his eyes dark. Hongjoong normally would submit to a look like that from Seongwha but this time, he just pushed Seongwha away from the wheel, making the older fall to the wooden floor, and steered away from the storm. Seongwha stared at him, shocked, angry and confused. He had never thought that Hongjoong would leave one of his own men behind. With the way that the Captain talked about all of them, Wooyoung, Yunho and Jongho especially, it seemed impossible.

"Hongjoong-" Seongwha got up slowly, standing just to the side of Hongjoong.

"I'm sorry Seongwha, but I cannot lose the rest of you. Yunho's probably gone already, no one would survive a storm like that. Not in these waters" Hongjoong explained, shaking his head. He did feel bad, but he had to make a decision to choose between Yunho or the rest of his crew. The decision was a quick one, but it was not easy. Seonghwa patted his shoulder and went back to talk to the rest of the kids now that they were out of the worst of the storm and no longer on the Dark Sea. Hongjoong watched him gather Wooyoung, San, Yeosang, Jongho and Mingi into a circle around him. Hongjoong turned away when Mingi fell to the ground sobbing. And when Wooyoung turned his head to glare at their captain and when Yeosang gave him the most pitiful, sorry look ever that tore at Hongjoong's heart.
