Mingi had almost given up on trying to find Yunho. Whoever his best friend, and more than a friend, had ended up, there was likely no chance that he was still alive. Mingi had asked around to as many places as he could, had hitched rides with fisherman, other pirates and even navy ships on the search for five missing princes. There was no sign of Yunho. It had been three months already and still nothing. One thing became clear. He was going to need help. And Mingi knew just who to go to. There was no one better than the Todoro Princes.
"You're looking for a guy?" The oldest of them greeted Mingi, shaking his hand.
"Yes. You think you can find him?" Mingi shook his hand back, sizing the other four up as well as the one in front of him.
"Of course. We have Terry and Gyu. They can find anyone, even someone who's been missing for...?" Yeonjun stopped, waiting for Mingi to finish the sentence.
"Three months" Mingi finished it for him, looking over the other four to figure out who was who. Tall and scrawny looked like an overgrown puppy, small and scrawny looked ready to commit murder, tall and skinny gave off the impression that he was going to ask Mingi to join him and play in the sand. And medium and skinny just looked as if he wanted to hug Mingi. They were a definitely strange group, Mingi could tell.
"Excuse my crew's manners. We don't usually meet our clients" Yeonjun threw a dirty look over his shoulder at the younger four.
"This is Soobin. There's Beomgyu, that's Taehyun and that one is Kai. I'm Yeonjun" The oldest listed off, pointing at each of his brothers.
"Alright. Let's get to work. First, what does this guy look like that your wanting us to find" Yeonjun got right to it. Taehyun tugged on Soobin's shirt, whispering something to him that Mingi could not hear. Soobin cleared his throat, making a small gesture with his hands when Yeonjun turned to him.
"Oh right. Let's talk about payment first" Yeonjun corrected himself.
"I'll give you anything I have" Mingi decided.
"Anything?" Soobin repeated, not exactly convinced. Mingi knew he didn't look like he had a lot but he would still give anything he did.
"This guy must be more than a friend if your willing to give anything for him" Kai joked, thinking it was actually funny.
"I don't see how that's any of your business" Mingi retorted. Kai looked surprised, especially when Taehyun stepped in front of him and glared at Mingi.
"Don't talk to him like that!" Taehyun ordered, one hand going to the hilt of his sword. Mingi did the same, remaining calm. He could beat this kid, he knew it.
"Let's all calm down" Beomgyu pleaded, putting a hand on Taehyun's shoulder. The younger did not move.
"Taehyun didn't mean anything by it. We're not judgemental" Yeonjun smiled politely, trying to salvage their deal. Mingi scoffed at him. Unfortunately, Taehyun and Kai both noticed and Mingi now had two swords pointing at him. Yeonjun's eye twitched with annoyance.
"Beomgyu?" He turned over his shoulder, looking at the smaller kid. Beomgyu nodded, grabbing the youngest two by the back of their shirts and leading them away so Yeonjun and Soobin could finish the deal.
"Little spitfires huh?" Mingi sheathed his sword, trying to make a joke to lighten the atmosphere. Yeonjun and Soobin just stared at him, clearly not amused at the comment about their brothers.
"We're willing to do this job for you but it's going to cost. How much do you have?" Soobin took over, stepping in front of Yeonjun.
"How much do you want?" Mingi returned the question. Soobin laughed.
"Your not used to bargaining, are you?" He commented, finding it funny. Mingi scowled at him. All he wanted to do was find Yunho, not deal with these spoiled brat pirates.
"Rule number one. Never ask how much someone wants for something. You'll get ripped off and left for dead" Soobin threw an arm around Mingi, forcing him to walk. Yeonjun stayed on the other side like a silent guard dog as they walked back to the younger crew's ship.
Mingi had thought that Yeonjun was the Captain but it seemed he was wrong. It became clear now who was really in charge.
