Eight makes one crew

Missing

Mingi did talk to Taehyun, finding out the reason for the younger's prejudice against him. Nothing was resolved right away but Taehyun did stop scowling at the very mention of Mingi so that was progress. Eventually, there was a small sign as to where Yunho could be.

"Why are we going back to the Dark Sea?" Kai leaned against the wheel of the ship, turning it lazily in his hands. Soobin gave him a sharp look and he straightened up instantly, turning the wheel in the right direction.

"Because that's where his boyfriend was last seen" Taehyun answered.

"Taehyun!" Yeonjun gave his brother a sharp look.

"What?! Am I the only one not buying the whole 'just friends' story from him? If they were just friends, he would have given up on this search months ago" Taehyun defended himself. Mingi only laughed. 

"Your right. Perhaps we are more than friends. The truth is, Yunho and I never actually figured it out" Mingi told him. Taehyun looked somewhat embarrassed at his words now. Yeonjun didn't look pleased with his brother, but he had enough sense to not say anything this time. Taehyun was becoming more careful. 

"HEY! THERE'S LAND!" Beomgyu leaned back, holding tightly to the rope hanging from the crow's nest so he didn't fall. Yeonjun yelled for him to be careful while Soobin got right to turning the wheel towards land. Taehyun turned his head to the side, watching the large island come into view. Kai ran to the edge of the ship, leaning over it to get a closer look. Mingi just watched. This was it. He could feel it. After almost a year, he had done it. 

Yunho was on that island.

Wooyoung watched the knife between his fingers carefully, flipping it between his fingers first from thumb to pinky and then back. He did it over and over again, never looking up from his own hand. Yeosang was laying back on the bed, his arm tucked under his head as he stared at the ceiling. 

"I hope they're-" San spoke but he was cut off.

"Don't say it" Wooyoung interrupted, his voice cold and harsh. San just looked at him.

"I was just going to say-" San tried to repeat himself. 

"We all know what you were going to say, San. Just don't say it" Yeosang didn't move. He sounded just as closed off as Wooyoung did. There was no emotion in their voices. 

"It's been two years. You don't think they would have come back?" San scoffed. Wooyoung stopped playing with his dagger, feeling the burning pain in his finger as the metal clattered onto the floor. Yeosang sat up.

"Damnit San! You couldn't keep your mouth shut, could you?!" Yeosang snapped, kneeling down in front of Wooyoung and looked at his hand. 

"I'm sorry, I just-" San panicked, backing away. Wooyoung got up, holding his hand over the only candle in the room. He bit his lip as the pain engulfed his entire hand. Yeosang stood back and watched, horrified at how easily Wooyoung was able to do that. As soon as Wooyoung stopped bleeding, he wrapped his hand in his shirt and left with Jongho right behind him. It was late but the four of them had somehow all had the same idea to meet in Yeosang and Jongho's room. Yeosang closed the door, turning to San.

"We all know" He stated. San didn't know what to say. 

"I know" He nodded. Yeosang hugged him. 

"Be understanding. This is hard for all of us but some more than others. You and I have to be strong for Wooyoung, Hongjoong and Seongwha. And Jongho. Yunho was their brother and Mingi is Seongwha's cousin" Yeosang looked up at San. 

"They were our family too" San argued. Yeosang sighed.

"I know. But Seongwha blames himself for everything and Hongjoong does too. And Wooyoung was close to Yunho. Just try to be there for them. They don't need to be reminded that-" Yeosang's eyes were filling with tears and he choked on the rest of his sentence, everything boiling over. San pulled him into a hug. It was clear that Wooyoung, Hongjoong, Jongho and Seongwha were not the only ones struggling. Yeosang clung to him, crying out every sorrow and fear in his body. 

Maybe they would be okay. And maybe they wouldn't.
