The Walima was over, and it was time for the brides to go to their husbands' homes. Mahni went back to her room with Iman and Aliya to help her get dressed. Her in-laws were already there to take her with them, and Sania went to the guest room to get dressed, as Omar was waiting for her so they could leave.

(A/N: Sorry, I forgot to mention earlier—Mahni is not staying in Karachi; she’s moving to Multan because her in-laws and husband live there. Meanwhile, Sania will be staying in Karachi.)

Mahni got dressed, and Iman helped her apply a little makeup while Aliya assisted her with the bangles, earrings, necklace, bracelet, anklet, maang tikka, bindi, and nath. They also helped her secure her dupatta on her head.

"I’ll miss you so much when you go. Don’t forget us, please," Iman said, hugging Mahni.

"I’ll miss you guys too. Don’t worry, I’ll be back soon. I still need to complete my studies; I have a year to go," Mahni said.

"Yes, but only if your husband gives you permission," Aliya said.

"Ugh, he’s annoying. Please stop mentioning him. I see this marriage as a contract—they gave Dada Ji money, and they brought me," Mahni said, tearing up.

"Who told you that, dear? Marriage is not a joke," Mrs. Hamida entered the room, and Aliya and Iman decided to excuse themselves and left.

Mahni and her mother discussed a lot. Mrs. Hamida gave her advice and words of encouragement. After Mrs. Hamida finished, Zara, Omar, and Ali went inside to bid her a final farewell.

"Take this," Omar handed her a package.

"What’s inside, Bhai?" Mahni asked.

"I can’t believe my baby sister has grown up and is getting married. I promised you I’d get you that anklet you wished for on your birthday, and I’ve fulfilled it," Omar said. He quickly turned his head to the window to wipe his tears.

"Apni, if you go, don’t forget me, please. Promise me you’ll visit or call," Zara hugged her, and they both started crying.

"Princess, hurry up, stand up, and wipe your tears. Your in-laws are here," Ali said.

Mahni cried a lot, but after all the tears, she wiped her face with a handkerchief. She sat on the bed while Omar put the anklet on her. Iman and Sana came in to inform them.

"Aunty, the Doli is here to carry Mahni."

(For those wondering what a Doli is: It’s a beautifully decorated palanquin where the bride sits, and four people carry her. Since Mahni isn’t staying in Karachi, the Doli will take her to the airport and then leave.)

"Ah, sure. Come on, cover her face and bring her with you guys. Ali, Omar, let’s go," Hamida said and left.

The two brides came downstairs together. Sania wasn’t crying, but when she saw her family coming to bid her a final goodbye, she started crying. Omar held her carefully as they entered the Doli. Mahni also entered her own Doli, which would drop her off at the airport. As they were being carried away, Zara started singing as her sister was leaving and cried:

🎶Tere bina zikr hai, tere bina hai
Mere dil mein dard ki hai, mere dil mein hai

(Without you, there is only mention, without you, there is only pain
In my heart, there is only sorrow, in my heart, there is only grief)

Tujhse juda hona, mere liye hai
Maut ki zindagi, mere liye hai

(Being separated from you is like death for me
Life without you is like a punishment for me)

Mere ashqon ka, mere dil ka hai
Tere bina kuch nahi, mere liye hai

(My tears, my heart, are only for you
Without you, there is nothing for me)

Tere bina zikr hai, tere bina hai
Mere dil mein dard ki hai, mere dil mein hai

(Without you, there is only mention, without you, there is only pain
In my heart, there is only sorrow, in my heart, there is only grief)🎶
