||15.||- Mahni's Snake bite

Two weeks had passed, and Mahni was writing her final paper. She woke up early, said her prayers, took a bath, and wore a beautiful purple dress. She headed to the kitchen to make breakfast for Hafeez and was about to step outside when he appeared in front of her.

__"Why are you sweating?"__ Mahni asked.

__"I just came back from jogging. Is my breakfast ready?"__Hafeez asked.

__"Yes, it's ready. I've also done all the chores you assigned me. Now, I need to go to college. I'm writing my final paper. At least, don't ruin my mood,"__ Mahni said and was about to step outside.

__"But why are you wearing a gown today? Are you going to your boyfriend's place?"__ Hafeez asked.

__"Oh, please stop it. After today's exam, my friends and I are going for a picnic,"__ Mahni said.

__"With whose permission?"__Hafeez asked.

__"Their parents,"__ Mahni said.

"I'm asking about you," Hafeez said.

"My parents will say I should ask my husband, and I don't have a husband but a boss, so therefore, bye," Mahni said and left.

Hafeez kept quiet for a moment, then immediately found the voice to speak. "Don't you dare come back here since you're going out without my permission. It seems like the freedom I gave you is too much."

After the examination, Mahni and Iman got into Kabir's car, and they headed to the garden for a picnic. They sang songs, took pictures, danced, and ate snacks.

"No, I don't want to leave you alone, bestie. Promise me our friendship is forever," Iman said.

"Of course, our friendship is forever," Mahni said.

"Everyone, let's make a promise. We will always try and find a time in our lives to meet again together," Kabir said.

"We promise," everyone said.

As they enjoyed their juice, Jamal stood up and looked like he was searching for something. When all the other members stood up, he knelt down in front of Sana.

"Well, Sana, since we're done with our exams now, I'll like us to start our life together as a married couple in a few months. So, now I'll like....I will like....I'll like to say, Sana, will you marry me?" Jamal said.

"Say yes, say yes," all the friends said, clapping their hands.

"Yes, I will, Jamal," Sana said, giving her hand forward, which he put a ring on.

It was a memorable day in everyone's life, as they had all been waiting for this day, and they couldn't believe it. They were done with college, and their friends were getting married soon.

"So, who's next among us going to find the love of his/her life?" Iman said.

"Well, me, I guess, because...." Aliya said.

"Your life is full of imaginations, so keep quiet. Our friend here is now Mrs. Mahnoor, so we have only two singles here," Iman said.

"Hahaha," Kabir laughed.

They kept chatting and arguing as usual until they got tired, then headed back home. Mahni got home only to see Hafeez not there, so she headed to her room, took a shower, came back to the living room, and sat down watching a movie. When Hafeez came in, he grabbed her wrist very tightly and brought her outside.

"You, how dare you!" Hafeez said.

"Leave me. What did I do?" Mahni asked.

"You are the reason Samira left me years ago. I hate you, Mahnoor, and so you shall suffer for this," Hafeez said.

"Leave me alone, Hafeez. You're an animal, and the girl you just mentioned, I don't know her," Mahni said.

"What did you say? Animal, right? Then I'll show you what an animal is. Sharif, take her to the dog cage. That is your new room," Hafeez threw her to the ground.

"What's this, Hafeez?" Amir came out of his car.

"Why are you here?" Hafeez said.

"Mom asked me to check on you, but why are you treating Mahni badly?" Amir asked.

"None of your concern. Sharif, I said take her where the guards are. Drag her to the cage now!!" Hafeez left the place.

Amir kept looking at Mahni as she was dragged to the cage and couldn't do anything but go back inside the house gently without saying another word. Mahni was inside the cage, crying, when she heard the hiss of a snake. She tried looking for it but didn't see,as she hung helpless in the cage, seeking help, the snake bit her and slithered away. Mahni cried out in agony, but no one came to her aid. She remained trapped and helpless, her body beginning to change color.

The next day, Hafeez finally called Sharif to unlock the cage and let Mahni out to make breakfast. But when Sharif approached the cage, he was met with a horrifying sight: Mahni's body had turned a sickly shade of blue, and she was barely conscious.

Sharif rushed back to Hafeez, his voice trembling with fear. "Her body is changing color, sir! She needs immediate help!"

Hafeez and Amir rushed to the cage, and Amir scooped up Mahni in his arms, his face etched with concern. __"We need to get her to the hospital, now, it's all your fault hafeez and I swear if anything happens to this innocent soul I will forget you are a Mafia, I'll... Let's go sharif get the car ready!"__

At the hospital, the doctors rushed Mahni into the emergency room. After a quick examination, the doctor's face turned grim. "She's been bitten by a deadly snake. We need to act fast to save her life."

The medical team worked tirelessly to treat Mahni's snakebite, administering antivenom and monitoring her vital signs. Amir stayed by her side, holding her hand and praying for her recovery.

As the hours ticked by, Mahni's condition remained critical. The doctors struggled to stabilize her vital signs, and Amir's worry deepened. Would they be able to save her in time? Only time would tell.
