Samir and Vedant walked in and sat on the sofa across from me.

Just then, Aarini tugged on my blazer, saying, "Kiss me, psycho."

Vedant and Samir exchanged shocked glances, the surprise evident on their faces.

Ignoring them, I turned my attention to her. "So, you want a kiss?" I asked, wiping the wine from her lips with a tissue.

She squinted her eyes and nodded, cleary intoxicated.

I knew she was drunk, and I didn't want to do anything she might regret later, but I couldn't deny that I wanted to kiss her. Her wine-stained lips were tempting, but I focused on cleaning them instead.

After wiping her lips, I tossed the tissue onto table and leaned closer to her face, I whispered in her ear, "I'll kiss you when we get home." Then I looked at Samir, whose face was still marked with surprise.

"Vivian, why is she asking you for a kiss?" Samir asked hesitantly.

Before I could respond, She rested her head on my bicep and mumbled, "I want a kiss."

I looked down at her; she was gazing into my eyes.

"Just kiss me," she said, closing her eyes.
The alcohol had clearly taken over her senses.

I placed my arm around her shoulder, gently rubbing her arm."Try to sleep, hmm?" I coaxed softly.

I didn't know why I was doing all this, but I just wanted to keep her close to me.

"She's his wife," Vedant answered.

Samir was stunned. "Is she really Vivian's wife?" he asked again, clearly taken aback.

"Yes, she's my wife," I confirmed.

Samir looked even more surprised. "If Aarini is your wife, why did she come here to work?"

Vedant and I were taken aback by this revelation.

Aarini had come here to work? But why?

"What? Aarini came here for a job?" Vedant asked, clearly surprised.

Samir nodded. "Yes, Aarini came looking for a job."

But why would she need a job?

Vedant continued, "But how did she get here, and how do you know her?"

Samir explained, "I don't know her personally. I know her friend Navya. Navya brought her here for a job."

I glanced at Aarini, who had fallen asleep with her head resting on my bicep. Her peaceful expression contrasted sharply with the turmoil in my mind.

Samir's words pulled me back. "And I gave her a job as a waitress."

Vedant looked even more surprised. "A waitress?"
