Chapter 16

" Let's see if it's upstairs." Mona said after about 30 minutes of searching.

"Whew, good. I was getting tired of searching the same places twice." Wisty said.

We walked upstairs and went through the same methodical searching process as we did downstairs. Finally after about 20 minutes of searching, we had found it. The one thing that could potentially help us.

I knew that the T.V. Wouldn't be showing anything that wasn't from the government agents or local news stations. Mona found an electrical socket and we plugged in the T.V. It was an urgent announcement from our 'president'.

I knew she had nothing good too say but I listened anyways. She was saying that now was not the time to panic or breakdown because the government was doing all they could to keep our country together.

I knew that was a bunch of bull so I flipped the channel. I saw the dissapeared channel. This was a channel that broacast all those people that had mysteriously dissapeared over the last few days or so.

The T.V. Said a few random names but then I heard a name that caught my intrest. "Lindsay and Thomas Reynolds" Why did that name seem so familliar? I started racking my memories. Suddenly it hit me.

Lindsay and Thomas were my parents names and Reynolds was my last name. That meant that they were possibly alive!!! I turned to Wisty and Mona and said," Those were my parents names! There is a chance they are alive!" I hugged Wisty and she hugged me back.

I looked at Mona. She looked strange. Like she was trying to smile but something inside her didn't want to. Suddenly she gave out a growl. I took a step back.That was strange.

Her skin looked like it was bubbling. It started turning a sickly green color. And suddenly she was bent down on all fours gagging. I moved to help her but she growled when I got near. Her body was bubbling just like her face and she began to transform into something I never wanted to see. A soul sucker.

I stood there rooted to the spot, paralyzed by fear that gripped me with such force I thought I was going to be sick. Wisty grabbed my arm and tried to pull me away. My feet wouldn't cooperate. I wanted to move away from the creature but fear kept it's steely grip on me.

Finally, once Mona was almost fully transformed, the rest of me realized the danger. I reluctantly pulled my eyes away and ran for my life to the car.
