Chapter 5

"I know this sounds wierd but when I was small and I lived with my parents, we had a T.V.

What I saw on the T.V was the scary part. The disaster. I knew the world was going to fall apart. I don't know how or why, but I knew it in my gut that the world was going bad. So I did the only thing that I thought was sensible."

I took a deep breath.

"When I was 10, I ran away from home. I ran away from my family and friends. I knew that I was leaving my old life behind. It was the only thing that would save me from a life of disaster and pain. Like everyone else in the world.

I didn't know where I'd end up. I brought all my money so I blindly took trains and planes to places I didn't even know.

I finally ended up in Rochester, New York. I met Wisty and we became friends. She was the only person I trusted in this messed up world.

The point is that T.V. Is probably still in my old house.If it is, it's one of the last ones around. If we can get to it we can use it to find out anything else valuable."

"That's not a bad idea actually." Jimmy said. "Where is your old house?" he asked. I bit my lip.

My house was in Alabama. A long way away from New York. I didn't know if my new-found friend would be up to the journey. "Alabama" I said mostly to myself. Jimmy looked surprised.

"You've come a long way to be here in New York." he said

" Yeah, I was really sad and frustrated and wasted all my money on plane amd train trips. They were all kinda short so I took them all over until I ran out of money. I have no clue where I went or how I ended up here. "

"Interesting." he said. " I'm willing to take the trip." He said after thinking it over. "What do you think Wisty?" Wisty was silent for a moment then said,"Anywhere Ivy goes I go. She is my one and only friend and I would follow her anywhere."

"Thanks Wisty." I said.

"So it's settled then. We will head out for Alabama tommorow." Jimmy said.

"One problem. We have no money to get anywhere." I said sadly.

"Why do you think my shop looks the way it does?"

I gave him a blank look.

"So that robbers don't realise that it's a gold mine. I am actually a very weathy man. I just like to discuise it with a poor look so no one will steal." Jimmy said.

" That's actually pretty smart." I said. "Cool, so when do we head out?"

"Tommorow on the 11'o' clock train." Jimmy answered.

"How do you know there is a train leaving at 11'o'clock?" Wisty asked.

"I often watch the train schedule because I travel a lot." Jimmy said.

"Me and Wisty will have to grab our things from the warehouse though." I said

"That's fine" Jimmy said.

'Tommorow was the day' I thought to myself 'Tommorow is the day I go Home.'
