He had never seen her so frantic in her life before. And that was a lot to say when they had been through almost everything together. "...WHERE is it..!" [Name] exasperated out, she searched their shared house up and down for the last 10 minutes for one simple thing. Their son's favorite bright orange stuffed plush that oddly...resembled Naruto, to which the Uzumaki had gifted Kaito on the Uzumaki & Uchiha's shared birthday.
Sasuke followed her movements as she almost trampled over toy blocks that scattered the ground, picking them up in the process and throwing them into the bin where most of his toy belongings went. "Dear...." he had realized something. "It's....right there." and she had stopped in her tracks, as she continued to look around wildly before her eyes landed on the culprit. "Oh...." she muttered out embarrassingly. Before she let out a nervous laughter. "Ah....clearly..., I haven't gotten enough sleep..."
Sasuke couldn't help but chuckle softly at the sight of [Name], standing in the middle of the room, her frantic search for the plush finally coming to an end. She looked slightly embarrassed, but there was also a visible relief as her eyes locked onto the small object that had been resting right next to Kaito's crib the entire time.
"I can see that," Sasuke replied with a smirk, his thumb sweeping a loose strand of her hair out of her face. His gaze softened as he watched her, his expression showing a mix of affection and amusement. The chaos of the moment—[Name] scrambling, Kaito's innocent giggles in the background, and the general mess of their living room—was a far cry from the battles they had fought together. But this? This was something different, something that made Sasuke realize that life had changed so much. And despite the chaos of their new life as parents, he couldn't imagine it any other way.
He was regretful that he hadn't been there throughout the first days of their new life. The year and a half he spent away from them repenting for his crimes. But he quickly shook the thought out of his head, looking at the reality that stood in front of him. [Name] let out a breath, looking sheepish. "I've just been so tired lately," she admitted, her voice low and slightly regretful. She gently picked up the plush and walked back toward Kaito, who had been sitting on the floor, oblivious to the small chaos his parents were creating. "Being a mom... it's exhausting."
"You're doing just fine," Sasuke said, his voice calm and steady. "He's healthy and happy. That's what matters." Her lips quirked into a soft smile as she sat down next to Kaito, who immediately reached for her. "I know," she said, her exhaustion still evident but her love for their son shining through. "But sometimes, it feels like I'm failing. There's always something to do, something to clean up, something to fix..."
