LOST CHAPTER THREE: A BROTHERS PROTECTION — OBITO & DEIDARA'S CHAPTER.

╰────────────╯

He cradled her in his arms, she slept so peacefully in his arms. It brought comfort to him. "I...will make sure..." he swayed her in his arms as she continued to sleep peacefully, "one day we can all live peacefully." Madara's ideology gave him sort of hope for a better ending. But Obito had to grant all the work to it, and he wasn't sure how long it would take honestly, but he knew one day, his project of casting the Tsukuyomi would be granted, and he would grant the world a new sense of peace. He placed his sister back into the crib, as he sensed Mina approaching the room, wisping away quickly as Mina opened the door to [Name]'s nursery.

That had been one of the many nights Obito had returned to Konohagakure since his death, but.. today meant something special. It had also been the night of the Nine-tails attack.

He wasn't there for the majority of her life. He couldn't be. He watched her through the shadows from birth till the day she became rogue. And Obito loved his sister dearly, but he had a harsh way of showing it. He saw so much of their mother in her, her fierceness, her stubbornness, but he also saw the damages of him in her, her darkness, her unwavering hatred. He saw everything that he did as a way of protecting her, may it have been bad or good. And [Name] was blinded to it at the beginning, but began to question it at some point.

He remembered the night Itachi had passed, the night he saw her with Sasuke before he set off for Kumogakure. He noticed their closeness then, their expressions unreadable yet heavy with an unspoken bond. Sasuke's pain mirrored her own, their grief intertwining as if they were the only ones who could understand each other. Obito had realized then that he wasn't the only person who could protect [Name].

Obito's jaw tightened as he observed them. He had kept her away from Sasuke for so long once she went rogue. A part of him envied their connection, while another part simmered with unease. Sasuke was a wild card, a variable Obito couldn't fully control once he obtained him. He wanted to intervene, to remind her of her loyalty to him, but he held back. Watching her comfort Sasuke, he saw something else—a strength she had built without him. It was both a source of pride and a bitter reminder of how far apart they had drifted.

That night, as he turned away from the scene, Obito felt the weight of his choices more than ever. He loved his sister, but he knew their paths were destined to collide. No amount of love could change the fact that he had become the very thing she would one day fight against.
