Evangeline stood there, blanketed with consternation. The worse shift in Amadeus' mood placed her mind in a disarray that forming an eloquent reply was impossible, she opened her mouth but closed it again.

The youngest Harker wasn't a fan of waiting, whether it was a desired purchase or a juicy tea, she didn't like being suspended in the air. She disliked having conflicted thoughts and the past days her feelings were a turbulent tornado within her chest, the kiss and bite they shared escalated it. What did it mean for them after such intimate moment? Would she carry on like it was nothing important?

"W-Why did you have a rotten corpse with you? How long have you had it?" She was tripping in her words. As she was agitated to get clarity in where both of them stood, Evangeline followed Amadeus without his notice. She thought he would sense her but the pale-haired vampire was too deep in his task.

The rotten corpse was dragged out of his music room, clad in an old white dress. Gruesome.

Evangeline's breathe caught in her throat, tears welling on her eyes. "Why--"

"You are not supposed to be here!" Amadeus stalked forward, ominous angry aura coming out of him, "Could you not wait, huh?!" This was the last moment he would be with his Psyche and he was saying his farewell! Did it have to be interrupted?!

The low hill was a safe space of leisure and relaxation for Amadeus, its surrounding greenery was budding with wild flowers. Some lesser harmless animals or beasts would be frequently seen around here but right now the tension mirrored the reddish-orange shade of the sky, of the setting ember in the horizon.

Evangeline stepped back, almost sliding down but she willed herself not to lose balance because if she fell, no one would catch her.

I just want to talk...I do not want things to be awkward between us.

I want to know if you can possibly feel something for me.

Or was everything due to impulse only?

Tears streamed down her cheeks, overtaken by fear at seeing him took out a corpse in a dress and his sudden anger directed at her, Evangeline turned away wordlessly and ran off.

-*-

It turned out wholesome.

Alanis didn't expect that Kurtis and wholesome would fit in one picture, this day jumped out of her box of assumption towards the dark-blonde second-born vampire. They went to multiple stalls, tried almost all the unique-looking street snacks they laid their eyes on, it was fun. Alanis never felt this giddy and excited, she was brimming with warmth.

"Here you go, Diamond" Kurtis was smiling from ear-to-ear, handing over the huge black stuffed bear to Alanis. The teddy bear was Gothic style, with cross-like large buttons as its eyes and had a thick red ribbon with small skull decorations and other charms on its neck. "These are for you too" His other hand held a red anemone.

Those stormy gray eyes turned wide as Alanis peered closer to the anemone. "No way, these are made of gemstones?!"

"It costs a lot!" Kurtis feigned a look of dismay as if making such a huge splurge was an inconvenience to him but then his expression quickly shifted back to its usual cheerfulness. "This is a special kind of red anemone, made from intricate real rubies, it's not easy to sculpt this that's why only a few handcraft them and yes it's expensive"

Obviously it was! The red glass flower could be sold and fed many mouths in more than a year! "Kurtis, this is too much!" She said, pushing the gem flower back while keeping the black stuffed bear.
