time flies as wanderer and childe stayed by each other's side. a few of the harbinger's had a fatal end and childe had ranked up as he grew stronger.

childe had brought wanderer out to just have a walk around. their cat on wanderer's hat, curled up as it napped, wearing the little coat wanderer had made for it.

as they hung out, a fatui agent approached childe and handed him a letter. it was from the tsaritsa. childe excused the agent and opened the letter, reading the note.

"..shitoma, i'll have to go on a mission soon. i hope you're not upset." childe said with a huff as he scratched the nape of his neck. wanderer furrowed his brows and just nodded with a hum.

a few days after, childe was packing up his stuff and made sure he have everything he needed. wanderer stood there with a frown as he watched childe place the packed bags by the front door..

"do you really have to go?.." asked an upset wanderer as he looked at childe with his stuff packed. "yes, shitoma. the tsaritsa had sent me to finish a business by causing havoc in mondstadt." replied childe, coming closer to wanderer and gave him a kiss.

"..alright. be careful." wanderer sighed as he hugged childe briefly before letting go. "i will. take care of yourself while i'm away. i don't want to come back to you all depressed" childe said, a hand cupping wanderer's cheek. his thumb rubbing wanderer's cheek tenderly.

Childe gazed into Wanderer's eyes, feeling the weight of their impending separation. "I'll be back before you know it, Shitoma. Just stay strong for me, alright?"

Wanderer nodded reluctantly, leaning into Childe's touch. "I will. Just don't get yourself killed out there."

Childe chuckled softly, his breath warm against Wanderer's face. "You know me. I don't go down that easily." He gave Wanderer one last lingering kiss before stepping back and picking up his packed bags.

As he turned to leave, Childe glanced back, giving Wanderer a reassuring smile. "I'll bring back something nice for you from Mondstadt. Maybe a souvenir or two."

Wanderer managed a small smile in return. "You better."

With one final wave, Childe exited their home, leaving Wanderer standing by the door, a mix of worry and hope in his heart. Wanderer watched until Childe was out of sight, then closed the door with a heavy sigh.

The days without Childe felt long and uneventful. Wanderer found himself constantly thinking about him, wondering if he was safe. He kept busy by tending to the cat and keeping their home in order, but the absence of Childe's presence was palpable.

Every night, Wanderer would sit by the window, staring at the moon and hoping for Childe's safe return. He clung to the memories of their time together, finding comfort in the thought that Childe would be back soon, stronger and more determined than ever.

The mission was dangerous, but Wanderer trusted Childe's abilities. He knew Childe was capable of handling himself in any situation. Despite the worry, there was a deep-seated belief that Childe would return to him, just as he always had.

As the days turned into weeks, Wanderer's longing for Childe's return grew stronger. He kept himself busy, but his heart was always waiting, always hoping. And as he stared at the moon each night, he whispered a silent prayer for Childe's safety, eager for the day when they would be reunited.

Childe's departure left a void in their home, but Wanderer was determined to keep things together. He took solace in the small comforts of their daily routine, finding distraction in caring for their cat and maintaining the house. Still, the emptiness was palpable, and the weight of Childe's absence pressed on him.

Days stretched into weeks, each one marked by a gnawing anxiety and a deep longing. Wanderer spent his evenings sitting by the window, his thoughts constantly drifting to Childe. He'd often find himself absentmindedly petting the cat, who seemed to sense his unease and offered silent companionship.

Wanderer's dreams were filled with memories of their time together: quiet walks, shared laughter, and the warmth of Childe's embrace. He clung to these moments, finding strength in the love they shared. Despite the worry gnawing at him, he held onto the belief that Childe would return safely.

One evening, as Wanderer sat by the window watching the moon rise, there was a knock at the door. His heart skipped a beat, hope flaring within him. He quickly got up and opened the door to find a Fatui agent standing there.

"Shitoma, there's a message from the Harbinger," the agent said, handing him a sealed letter.

With trembling hands, Wanderer took the letter and opened it. Relief washed over him as he read Childe's familiar handwriting. The letter was brief, but it reassured him that Childe was safe and making progress on his mission. Childe's words were filled with determination and a promise to return soon.

A small smile tugged at Wanderer's lips as he read the letter. He carefully tucked it away, feeling a renewed sense of hope. Knowing that Childe was safe and thinking of him brought a measure of comfort he hadn't felt in weeks.

Wanderer continued to wait, each day bringing him closer to Childe's return. He maintained their home and kept their routines alive, the cat often by his side, providing a silent, comforting presence.

one day, wanderer received a knock early in the morning and went to check who it is. he see's an agent holding childe's stuff and a note. wanderer was filled with dread as he sees this. he hoped that it's not what he thought.

Wanderer opened the door, his heart pounding as he took in the sight of the Fatui agent holding Childe's belongings and a note. Dread seeped into his veins, but he steeled himself and reached for the note with trembling hands.

The agent, sensing Wanderer's distress, spoke gently, "He's safe, Shitoma. This is just a message he asked me to deliver."

Relief washed over Wanderer, and he quickly unfolded the note. Childe's familiar handwriting greeted him, bringing a sense of comfort.

"Shitoma,
I'm sorry for the scare. I'm safe, but I had to send my things ahead for safety reasons. The mission is tougher than expected, but I'm making progress. I miss you every day and can't wait to see you again. Stay strong for me.
Love, Childe"

Wanderer's shoulders sagged with relief. He thanked the agent, who nodded and left. Closing the door, Wanderer hugged Childe's belongings to his chest, tears of relief and longing streaming down his face.

Days turned into weeks, but Wanderer clung to the hope that Childe would return soon. He maintained their home, his routine providing a semblance of normalcy amidst the uncertainty. The cat, sensing Wanderer's need for comfort, stayed close by, a constant presence of warmth and reassurance.
