Chapter Six: Falling for Riley

Finally it was the end of the day. All that's left is advisor base or aka AB. I signed into power school and looked through the students I had in my AB. Kyler, Hannah, Alex, Octavian, Angelica, Sam, Guerrimo, Justin, Nick, Connor, Tyler, Jacob, Sarah, Courtney, and finally Riley! Yes she's with me.

I smiled and jumped out of my seat and headed down to the office. I turned the corner and looked in my mail box to see if I had any hand outs for AB or anything else. I grabbed the papers then walked back to my room. In AB it was just me because Ms.Kiamco has an AB of her own.

The bell rang for the kids to go to AB as everyone in the room got up and left.

"Don't forget to bring your books tomorrow!" Shouted Mr.Liota.

He's a eight grade language arts teacher that uses my room after my third block is over and Ms.Kiamco has a class of her own after third block. Liota left the room as a few student entered for AB. One of those students being Riley.

She walked over to a desk at the other side of the room and sat down.

"Your desk is right here" I said to her pointing at the desk right next to my desk.

She got back up and moved to where I was pointing. The rest of my AB soon came rushing in to not be tarty.

"Ok this is AB and if you don't already know me my name is Mr.McDowell and AB if you don't remember from last year or your new its a time to read or do homework" I explained.

Everyone reached into their backpacks and grabbed something to work on.

"Can we listen to our iPods?" Asked a student.

"Uh sure" I answered.

Almost everyone got out an iPod or phone and started listening to music. No one sat on either side of Riley or behind her. She was completely alone.

There was some people talking but that really didn't matter. I walked over to her and said "What are you doing?".

She looked at me and answered.

"We'll um I really don't know! I guess I'm just drawing sonic the hedgehog!" She said.

I looked down at her drawing and saw it looked exactly like the famous blue spiky hedgehog himself.

"Wow your really good!" I commented.

"Really" she asked.

I nodded as I looked at her. She thanked me than continued to draw. I watched as just a sketchy circle became a blue hedgehog running through the plains. I continued to watch as the bell for the end of school rang.

Like every time the bell for another class rings the students get up and make a mess if the desks. Soon everyone but me and her where gone.

"So do you go home on the bus?" I asked.

"No they messed up some stuff in enrollment and now I don't have a bus but I do have my first tennis practice today" she said.

I nodded as she got up and began to arrange the desks back in order. It was almost like watching Adrienne Monk from the show Monk fix the desks in my room. She was that precise in how straight they were.

Soon she finished and said "Well I'll see you tomorrow Mr.McDowell!" As she walked towards the door.

"Wait" I said.

She stopped and looked at me.

"Do you need a ride home?" I asked.

She blushed and said "uh yeah why?".

I got nervous and said " because I could give you a ride!".

"Uh I don't know doesn't this school have a rule against that and besides my friend Cailin already said she could give me a ride but thanks!" She said then walked out the door.

I turned around and sighed while thinking to myself how dumb I sounded talking to her. I haven't sounded this dumb since I met my girlfriend Angela over in a museum in Ohio where she lives. I don't know what's going on with me. Maybe it's just stress or something! I hope. In the end it all comes down to I'm falling for her.
