Jayda woke up with a start, her heart still racing from the chaos of the previous night. She glanced at her phone, the screen lighting up with a missed call from Dess and a flurry of messages. Taking a deep breath, she dialed Dess's number.
"Hey, you okay?" Jayda asked as soon as Dess picked up.
"I'm fine," Dess replied, her voice shaky. "But I can't stop thinking about what happened. Can we go to Chalynn's? I need to see you guys."
"Of course," Jayda said. "I'll be there in twenty."
Twenty minutes later, Jayda pulled up in front of Dess's apartment. Dess got into the car, and they drove in silence to Chalynn's house, both lost in their thoughts. As they pulled up, they saw Taurus standing on the porch, his expression serious.

"Hey, are you guys okay?" Taurus asked, concern etched on his face. "I heard about what happened at the club. It was all over the news."
"We're fine, just shaken up," Jayda replied, giving Taurus a weak smile.
"Thanks for checking on us," Dess added, her mind still reeling from the night's events.
They headed inside, where Chalynn greeted them with hugs and worried glances. "I'm so glad you're both safe," she said, leading them to the living room. "What exactly happened?"
Before they could answer, there was a knock at the door. Taurus opened it to reveal Durk and Von, the latter standing with a girl by his side. Dess's heart skipped a beat at the sight of Von, but her confusion quickly turned to surprise when she saw the girl holding his hand.
"Hey, we heard what happened," Durk said, stepping inside. "Are you all okay?"
"We're okay," Jayda said, her eyes flickering to Von and the girl.
Von nodded, his expression unreadable. "Good to see you guys made it out safely. Von didn't bother introducing the girl next to him.
"Hi," The girl next to Von said, offering a polite smile.
