THE VOICE & GRANDSON
| DURK & VON|
ATLANTA , GA 📍

Von and Durk moved with urgency, their determination palpable as they navigated the streets of Atlanta. Every second counted. They had everything planned down to the last detail, but Von's mind was on Dess. He couldn't shake the unease gnawing at him, a sense that something was off.

They pulled up to the first location, a warehouse on the edge of town where Deshawn's crew was known to hang out. Von and Durk exchanged a look, a silent agreement passing between them. This was it.

"Ready?" Durk asked, his voice low.

"Let's get it," Von replied, his Chicago accent thick with resolve.

They burst through the warehouse doors, guns drawn. The place was empty, save for a few low-level guys who scattered at the sight of them. Von grabbed one by the collar, slamming him against the wall.

"Where's Deshawn?" he demanded, his voice a growl.

"I don't know, man!" the guy stammered. "He ain't been here!"

Von threw him aside and killed him frustration boiling over. "He's slippin' through our fingers. We need to hit the next spot."

Durk nodded, already moving. They hit three more locations, each one a bust. Deshawn was always one step ahead. By the time they reached the fourth spot, Von's phone buzzed with a call from Kayla.

Von answered, his heart pounding. "Kayla , what's up?"

"Von, it's bad," Kayla voice was frantic. "Deshawn's here. He took Dess. I tried to stop him, but there were too many of them."

Von's vision tunneled, rage and fear converging. "What? How the hell did this happen?"

"He came outta nowhere. We didn't have a chance," Kayla said, her voice shaking.

Von hung up, his hands trembling. He turned to Durk, his expression dark. "Deshawn's got Dess. He took her from Kayla's  house."

Durk cursed under his breath. "We need to move, now. Any idea where he might've taken her?"

Von's mind raced, piecing together the scraps of intel they had. "There's an old hideout he used to use, out by the river. It's a long shot, but we gotta check."

They jumped back in the car, speeding through the city with a single-minded focus. Von's heart pounded in his chest, each beat echoing his desperation. He couldn't let anything happen to Dess. Not now, not ever.

When they reached the hideout, an abandoned building by the river, they approached with caution. Von's eyes scanned the area, every shadow a potential threat. They crept inside, the musty smell of decay filling their nostrils.

"Stay sharp," Durk whispered, his gun at the ready.

They moved through the building, each creak of the floorboards amplifying the tension
