DESS'S RESIDENCE|

The morning sun bathed the room in a warm glow as Dess woke up, feeling more at peace than she had in a long time. Von was still asleep beside her, his arm draped protectively over her waist. She watched him for a moment, feeling a surge of love and gratitude. She had been through so much, but somehow, she had found someone who made her feel safe and cherished.

Slipping out of bed, she made her way to the kitchen, her mind racing with thoughts. She wanted to share her happiness with her friends, Chalynn and Jayda. They had been her rock during the darkest times, and they deserved to know how much things had changed for the better.

After making herself a cup of coffee, Dess picked up her phone and sent a text to Chalynn and Jayda, asking if they could meet up later. Almost immediately, both of them responded with enthusiastic yeses. She smiled, feeling a wave of excitement. She couldn't wait to tell them about Von and how happy he made her.

Von woke up a little while later, his groggy voice greeting her as he walked into the kitchen. "Mornin', ma . What's got you up so early?"

Dess turned to him, a smile lighting up her face. "Morning, Von. I was just thinking about meeting up with Chalynn and Jayda today."

Von wrapped his arms around her, kissing her forehead. "That sounds like a good idea. They deserve to know how you're doin'. You know i'll never hurt you right destiny."

Dess felt a rush of warmth. "Thank you, Von. I think they'll be happy to meet you. i know you won't ". She knew when Von called her by her first name that he meant everything he said to her.

Later that afternoon, Dess made her way to the Restaurant where she had arranged to meet Chalynn and Jayda

Later that afternoon, Dess made her way to the Restaurant where she had arranged to meet Chalynn and Jayda. She spotted them at a corner table, waving excitedly as she walked in. They both stood up to hug her, their smiles reflecting their happiness at seeing her.

"Dess! It's so good to see you," Chalynn exclaimed, squeezing her tightly.

Jayda nodded, her eyes filled with concern and relief. "We've been so worried. How are you holding up?"

Dess smiled, feeling a wave of gratitude. "I'm doing really well, actually. I have so much to tell you."

They sat down, and Dess began to recount everything that had happened since she met Von. She told them about how he had been there for her, protecting her, making her feel safe and loved. Chalynn and Jayda listened intently, their expressions shifting from concern to happiness as they heard how much Von meant to her.

"Wow, Dess. It sounds like Von is really good for you," Chalynn said, her eyes shining with happiness.

Jayda nodded. "I'm so glad you found someone like him. You deserve to be happy."

Dess felt a surge of emotion. "Thank you, both of you. I don't know what I would have done without your support."

As they continued to chat, Dess felt a sense of peace and contentment. She was surrounded by people who cared about her, and she finally felt like she was moving forward.

Meanwhile, across town, Von and Durk were at the trap house, trying to make sense of the recent events. Von's anger and confusion about his cousin's lie still simmered beneath the surface. They sat in a dimly lit room, the air thick with the scent of smoke and the sound of muffled conversations.

"Man, I still don't get why my cousin lied 'bout Deshawn takin' Dess," Von said, frustration evident in his voice. "It don't make no sense, Durk."

Durk nodded, leaning back in his chair. "Yeah, it's messed up, bro. We gotta figure out what's really goin' on. Can't let no one play us like that."

Von ran a hand through his hair, trying to piece together the puzzle. "I just don't get it. We was tight, you know? Why she gotta go and pull some shit like this?"

Durk leaned forward, his expression serious. "Maybe she got her own reasons. Maybe she scared or got caught up in somethin' she can't control. Either way, we gotta find out the truth."

Von nodded, clenching his fists. "Yeah, you right. I can't let this slide. Dess been through enough, and I ain't lettin' no one mess with her like that."

Durk patted his shoulder. "We'll get to the bottom of it, Von. We always do."

Von took a deep breath, feeling a renewed sense of determination. "Yeah, we will. I gotta protect Dess. She means everything to me."

As they continued to talk, Von's phone buzzed with a text from Dess, letting him know she was heading back home. He felt a rush of relief, knowing she was safe and sound. He quickly replied, telling her he'd be home soon.

"Alright, Durk. I gotta head out. Dess is on her way back," Von said, standing up.

Durk nodded, standing up as well. "Keep your head up, Von. We'll figure this out."

Von left the trap house, his mind still racing with thoughts of his cousin's betrayal. He drove back home, his heart heavy but determined to keep Dess safe and happy.

---

Back at home, Dess was waiting for him, her face lighting up as he walked through the door. Von pulled her into his arms, holding her tightly.

"How was your meetin' with Chalynn and Jayda?" he asked, his voice soft.

"It was really good. They're so happy for us," Dess replied, looking up at him with a smile.

Von felt a wave of relief. "I'm glad. You deserve all the happiness in the world, Dess."

She hugged him tightly, feeling the warmth of his love and protection. "Thank you, Von. I'm so grateful for you."

As they settled in for the evening, Von made a silent promise to himself. He would do whatever it took to keep Dess safe and happy. No matter what challenges lay ahead, he knew they could face them together. And with Durk by his side, they would uncover the truth and ensure that no one would ever hurt Dess again.
