DAYVON BENNETT | VON | THE TRAP📍
The trap house was alive with activity, a hub of movement and sound. Von stepped inside, the familiar sights and smells washing over him. It was a place that had seen its share of chaos and calm, a sanctuary for those who understood its unspoken rules.
Durk was already there, lounging on a worn-out couch, a blunt in his hand. He looked up as Von walked in, a lazy grin spreading across his face. "Yo, what up, Von? 'Bout time you showed up."
Von chuckled, shaking his head. "Man, you know how it is. Gotta handle business first."
Durk took a drag from the blunt, nodding. "Always somethin', ain't it? Come on, sit down. Got a new track I been workin' on. Wanna hear it?"
Von dropped onto the couch beside him, the tension of the past few days easing off his shoulders. "Hell yeah, lemme hear what you got."
Durk leaned over, hitting play on his phone. The room filled with the deep bass and sharp lyrics of his latest track. Von listened, nodding his head to the beat, feeling the rhythm pulse through him.
"Aye, this shit fire, Durk," Von said, genuinely impressed. "You always got the heat."
Durk grinned, clearly pleased with the compliment. "Preciate it bro. Been puttin' in work, you know? Tryna make sure everything's perfect."
Von reached over, grabbing a blunt from the table and lighting it. He took a deep drag, letting the smoke fill his lungs before exhaling slowly. "You got the talent, bro. Ain't no doubt about that. Just gotta keep pushin'."
They sat in comfortable silence for a while, passing the blunt back and forth. The trap house buzzed around them, a constant hum of activity that they both found oddly comforting.
"So, how's things with you and Dess?" Durk asked, breaking the silence.
Von shrugged, a small smile tugging at his lips. "We good. Just tryin' to take it day by day, you know? Shit's been crazy, but we holdin' it down."
Durk nodded, understanding. "Yeah, I feel you. Gotta keep your head up, no matter what. You know I got your back."
Von looked at his friend, gratitude in his eyes. "I know, Durk. Appreciate you, bro. Ain't nobody I trust more."
Durk leaned back, his expression serious. "Same here, man. We been through too much to let anything come between us. Family for life."
"Family for life," Von echoed, their bond solidified by years of loyalty and shared experiences.
They spent the next few hours talking, laughing, and reminiscing about old times. The trap house, despite its gritty exterior, held a sense of camaraderie and brotherhood that they both valued deeply.
As the evening wore on, Von felt a sense of peace settle over him. Being here with Durk, away from the chaos and drama, gave him a chance to recharge and remember what was important.
"Hey, you remember that time we hit up that party on the West Side?" Durk asked, a mischievous glint in his eye.
Von laughed, nodding. "Hell yeah, I remember. We turned that place out. Had everybody wildin'."
Durk chuckled, shaking his head. "Man, we was some wild boys back then. Good times."
"Still are," Von replied, a grin spreading across his face. "Just a little smarter about it now."
Durk raised his blunt in a mock toast. "To us, and to always stayin' ahead of the game."
Von clinked his blunt against Durk's, a sense of camaraderie and mutual respect hanging in the air. "To us."
The trap house, with all its noise and chaos, felt like a sanctuary in that moment. A place where Von and Durk could be themselves, surrounded by the unspoken bond of their shared history.
As the night deepened, Von knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, he had a solid foundation in his friends and their unwavering loyalty. And that, above all else, gave him the strength to keep moving forward.
