Waking up always felt like the hardest part of the morning for Scar. Well, it didn't help that he had a cat who loved to cuddle. "Jellie, when will you stop laying on me at night?" A soft meow came from the other side of the bed at his feet. "Come on, girl, you know I need to get up and get ready." An annoyed-sounding meow followed by the sound of paws hitting the ground signaled that she had gotten up.
After getting out of bed and dressed, Scar headed to the kitchen. The clattering of Jellie's collar told him he was being followed.
It was a quiet morning like always. Living alone didn't call for there to be noise. "Well, Jellie, I can see you're hungry for your breakfast." He said as the cat rubbed at his legs meowing. After feeding Jellie and himself, Scar grabbed his bag. He quickly said bye to his cat before he left for work.
Walking to work was always the best part of the morning because it woke him up after his late nights. He found himself heading to the bakery slightly earlier than most days. This was because he had to start a batch of the "Elevn Cookies" as it was their most popular cookie. Also, preparing everything early so he didn't have to do so while training his new hire would be helpful.
When arriving, he did not expect to see Grian waiting for him outside the bakery.
"Grian, what are you doing here so early? Your shift doesn't start for another hour and a half."
"Oh, hey scar, yeah, I didn’t know when you would get here. And I was thinking if you gave me the run-through early before the shop opens, it would take up less of your time while the shop is open. So you can focus more on work, also you don't have to pay me for this extra time."
"Well, that was very considerate of you, grian, and yeah, we could do that. For the first couple of days or weeks, I'll have you run the counter." Scar said as he opened the door to the shop, allowing Grian to enter first. "This is good timing, though cause I came half an hour early because I have to make a batch of Elven Cookies. I can do that after training you, though, 'cause I'll have time."
"Alrighty then, let's get this training started." Grain said, determined.
