Where is he? I thought as I was waiting on the roof of the shop we first met on. "Sorry, I'm late. I... I needed to take care of something..." he said, landing on the roof. Those beautiful black-purple wings fluffed up behind him. "Well, how are you liking the new costume change, Cuteguy," I said teasingly. He shifted slightly from side to side, "Look it's new to me I'm used to having heavy equipment on, this is just super light and it makes me have to adjust my whole stance and flight methods." The second part of the sentence seemed to register right as he finished speaking, "And why did you have to make that my hero name? Seriously, no one will ever take me with the name Cuteguy." A laugh was all I could manage to make at that comment.
-
He just laughed at me. Am I a joke to you? "Sorry, I shouldn't -" he went into another laughing fit, "I choose that name because I can tell it doesn't match your personality, but it does match your appearance."
I sat there for a moment contemplating before I asked, "What in the world is that supposed to mean?"
He broke into another laughing fit "Oh-oh my I'm sorry it's just that I mean that it will confuse people," he took a deep breath to recover, "People will assume by your looks that you aren't much of a threat. But I can tell that you are a much stronger person than you appear.
-
All his face showed was a look of pure confusion mixed with some sort of pride, I assume it was from having this outlook on others. "Well, at least the crossbow is nice, I'm afraid to say I don't have the best shot with a normal bow and arrow." He looked at the bow in his hand, inspecting the quality and the different parts of it.
"Well that's good I didn't quite have another bow up to good quality and the crossbow was all I had ready for you," he glanced up from the bow to watch my moments closely, "but knowing you like that better, I could make you a custom one."
"Yeah, that would be nice -" he was cut off mid-sentence as a loud alarm blared from a street or two down.
We both simultaneously looked towards the origin of the sound. "Well, I hate to cut this conversion short, but it sounds like I'm needed." His eyes shot up at my sentence, and he gave me the most pleading look, "Wait let me go too."
"Bud, no offense, but I have no idea what you are capable of, and I don't feel comfortable putting you in that situation. Plus, the media moves fast. Are you sure you want to be in the spotlight already?"
-
I understood where he was coming from, but I didn't understand why he cared so much. "I'm fine with it. The only way to establish my presence in this city as a hero is to start helping out. If I never started, I would have had no reason to come here." The only look he gave me was one of a mix of worry and a little bit of pride. I don't know. I can never fully tell with him.
"Alright, then Cuteguy lead the way."
