Well, as the day passed, Cub left, and I was finally released to my break. I spent said break in the dining room of the bakery, talking to Scar at the counter. "So Scar, I know you said Cub was your brother, but why have I never heard about him?"
Scar rolled his eyes "Grian I have only known you for a couple of weeks, do I have to tell you my life story."
"Okay, wow -" I gaped at him, "you can just say that I didn't need to know." All I got as a response was a shake of the head and a laugh. How insulting.
-
Grian just sat there pouting after I told him he didn't need to know my life story. Wow, I didn't know what I was getting myself into a few weeks ago. Gri, it's nothing personal, but I don't usually talk about my family. I live alone minus a cat and don't see them much. It honestly was a shock to see Cub here it had been a while since-" I cut myself off before I say too much.
Just as Grian was about to ask what I was saying, the bell rang. A somewhat familiar blonde guy entered with a not-so-familiar cyan-haired guy. Where I had seen the blonde before I didn't know, that was until he walked up to Grian.
"Hey Jim," Grian said, "whose this?" Oh now, I know it was that blonde Grian served a week ago that he seemed to be old friends with or at least knows.
-
I knew that Jimmy was coming to the shop because he was nearby and wanted to say hi, but I didn't know he was bringing someone with him.
"Oh right, this is Scott and Scott. This is my old friend, grian," he said with a mixture of happiness and anxiousness.
"Hello, nice to meet you." I got it from a surprisingly strong Scottish accent.
I return the hello, but then give my attention to Jimmy, "When did I get demoted to a friend?"
A baffled expression fell over his face. "What? What do you -" he stopped halfway through his sentence, giving me a knowing look. "Well, if you're talking of how you went from a brother to a friend, that is because you and my other older brother figure left me here alone." He said in a dramatic yet playful way.
"How dare you, you know I had no choice on whether I stayed or left," I said, almost seeming genuine. It may have been the thought, but I was faking the dramatics a little.
A tiny little bell sound went off just as Jimmy was preparing to return the dramatics. I looked done when I realized it had come from my phone. Oh- aww, my break is over.
-
I glanced over when I heard a familiar bell sound to see Grian with the most unhappy face I've ever seen. "Guess you're back on the clock then," I say smugly. All I get in response is a dirty look.
"I'm heading to my break I have to call Cub, so when you finish I need you back behind the counter."
"Fine" grian pouts "what do you guys want?"
"I'll take an Elven surprise, Scott will have an Elven Kiss," Jimmy said. Oh, that's who he was getting those for.
