"This can't be happening. I forgot to do my summer paper! My first day of Junior year and I'm starting off with an F!" I yelled through my outdated iPhone which deafened my best friend, Vanessa.
"Can't you use one of your old essays? I heard from the seniors that Mrs. Cappalti resigned," she said, attempting to ease my anxiety which is currently on level FML.
"So if we have a new teacher, they won't know that you turned it in before."
"I really hope you're right. Wait...what senior do you know that would actually tell you such useful information? I thought they were all assholes." I asked utterly confused at this sudden change of character.
"Eryka told me." she said, as if that made anymore sense.
"Why would Eryka even talk to you? You've been sworn enemies since 6th grade when she..."
"Let's not bring that up," she interrupted. "Let's just say she owed me."
"Alright, whatever. I'll see you at school, I'm gonna be late." I said while looking at the time. I didn't even give her the chance to say bye, I just hung up.
I'm not one of the lucky ones who get to ride a school bus. I have to bring my ass to school—which may I add is pretty damn far—on a bicycle. At Least I don't have to work hard to get a summer body since I get plenty of exercise every day.
*
I reached school and began to walk my bike towards my parking space—which I have the right to call mine since I used it since freshman year. There seemed to have been a problem...someone's bike was in my spot."What the hell is this?" I yelled loud enough for anyone within three miles to hear.
"Maddie is that you?" Said an annoying voice I wish I'd never have to hear again.
I slowly turned around and pop goes the hoe. It was Mia. Daniels ex girlfriend. And also Devins ex...and Kevin's, and every popular guy in the freakin school.
"How many times must I tell you...to you, my name is Madison." I said, clenching my teeth enough to pop my braces out.
"Oh come on. Let's not start the year off with a feud. It is my last you know. And it would be your last too if you didn't stay back." She said, already getting under my skin.
"You of all people know damn well why I'm still a junior. Don't try to play me. Now do you know whose bike this is? It's in my parking space, and everyone knows this is my space, and mine only." I said, turning red by every syllable. That's saying something considering my colored people don't get red.
"Well they're probably new." she said with a false smile that made my whole body run cold.
"It's mine," said a mysterious voice from behind me. We all turned around to see a tall and very pale man child with aterrible after shave in a brown cloak. He looked old enough to be my father...maybe not that old.
"Is there a problem?" He asked, looking dead at me.
I could see Mia from my peripheral vision enjoying this moment way too much."Yes there is," I began with a huge swallow.
"This is where I have and always will park my bike. I don't know where you came from or who you think you are, but this is my spot. Now, is there a problem?"
He stood there as if he was actually contemplating whether he had a problem or not.
"I'll get back to you on that." He said and left, taking his bike with him.
"He really must be new." I said under my breath.
"I'll be in AP calculus. I'm guessing I won't see you there Maddie." Mia said and walked away.
"That little prick." I rolled my eyes enough to take a peek at my skull and parked my bike.
I turned around too quickly and bumped into Devin Gordon. My crush since middle school.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I should've watched where I was going." I said, picking up and dusting off his books."Here." I said while handing them to him.
"Thanks," he laughed. "Don't forget yours." He bent down, brushed off my books and handed them to me with his unoccupied hand.
"You're so strong." I thought out loud. He laughed again and damn were his teeth white. I especially loved his gap.
"I-I mean thank you." I said, grabbing my books and walking away as quickly as possible before embarrassing myself even more.
I was walking for a good two minutes and couldn't help but think that I was being followed. I turned around and no one was there, but I eventually forgot about it.

"Oh crap I forgot to meet Vanessa in the bathroom." I ran to the bathroom with 2 minutes to spare before my first class. I stood by the door and she was still there...with Eryka."Hey Vanessa." I said, not even looking at her but at Eryka.
"See you after class." Said Eryka as she walked out the bathroom, bumping my shoulder when she left.
"What was that about?" I asked, kind of pissed but kind of not. I never had a problem with her, Vanessa did. But, her enemies are my enemies.
"Nothing really, we were just talking about her debt...don't worry about it. We have to get to class." She said.
I didn't bother to ask any further. She was right. We had 30 seconds before being late.
"See you at lunch." She said and ran off to A period.I turned around after she left because I felt a cold breeze like the door was open, but it was perfectly shut. Nothing was there, or no one was there. So, I head to class.
