Chapter twenty

Daniel would be the only person to host a party with more turnouts than homecoming had. Our hoco was wack. The committee was a bunch of juniors who did it just for community service hours.

Plus, the dj was ReVaugn. Every minute he stopped the music to promote his mixtape. I could send his mixtape to hell and it still wouldn't be fire. He thinks it is but the devil is a liar...But I'm not a rapper.

Anyways, as a result of our lack of a "lituation" we had to dress up for the party. I wore what would've been my hoco dress. Me and Vanessa didn't go to homecoming all dressed up since we knew it would suck. We just went for the food and left.

I arrived at the party with Vanessa and Noran. They looked like queens and I looked like Cinderella...before the fairy godmother. My GLO up couldn't load at least 20% for just today?

"Where should we sit? Noran asked.

"By the hors d'oeuvres so I don't have to walk far to eat." I said.

"You bring your belly with you every where." Vanessa joked.

We sat down by the food and waited until Daniels mom said we could have some since everyone wasn't there yet.

As we were about to sit down, Daniel stopped me and hugged me to death.

"Aye you came! Why're you sitting over here? I have a special table for you three." He said.

"Oh thanks but we'd rather be close to the food." I said, having a feeling of who else would be at that special table.

"If it's food you want then the special table is for you. You get your food first."
"Omg Maddie! Common let's sit there! First choice of food?! Don't pass that up!" Vanessa whined.

"Alright alright fine." I agreed, eyeing Daniel.

"Love you." He said sarcastically.

We went over to the special table and Kevin was there with Ayana and Juliana sat across from them. I'm guessing Daniel's seat is the one beside it.

"Here's your seat." Daniel pulled out a chair for me next to Ayana.

"For you. And you." He pulled one for Noran and Vanessa next to me.

I noticed the whole crew was here except Devin. I didn't want to bring it up though. At least wherever he is sitting, it won't be next to me.

More people came and Daniel's mom allowed us to get hors d'oeuvres. Still no sign of Devin...not that I cared or anything.

When we got our food, I saw Daniel whisper something into Vanessa's ear and she took a quick glance at me, then looked away.

We sat back down with our food.

"I'll be back, I'm going to the bathroom." Vanessa said before she sat down.

"I'll come with you." I said starting to get up.

"No. Stay here. Incase I miss something, I want you to tell me." She said.

"Well...okay." I said as she walked away.

That's strange. She never goes alone.

She was right though. Daniels mom made some announcements such as the homecoming prince and princess nominations. Since no one came to homecoming and no one voted for hoco King and queen, we did it here. To avoid copyright issues, we have to nominate prince and princess instead of King and queen.
