The Stalked, The Loved and The Reflection

Chapter eleven

Even though Devin I are dating now, I feel as distant as we were before. It's only been three days but, I'm pretty sure couples should talk to eachother everyday. What do I know anyways; This is my first relationship. I didn't even have a kindergarten boyfriend like a normal child.

Since the schedule changed, we haven't seen eachother that often in school either. Before we had like three classes together and study hall and now it's just gym and AP physics. I'm kind of good at science so I'm in all the science related classes with the seniors; my rightful grade.

All my classes are AP since I took them already last year.

"Hey." Warm hands made an X on my chest from behind and turned me around. I struggled to look up, my face buried in his chest. It was Devin.

"Long time no see." I said wanting to pull away. He felt my resistance and held me tighter. As mad as I was for him not making an effort to see me for three whole days, I wasn't going to be stupid and avoid him. I yearned for his presence.

"I'm sorry I haven't been around lately, but something came up. I found out why Daniel was acting so strange the other day after he was on the phone and I tried to help him resolve it." He explained, releasing me from his tight grip. I didn't notice for a while but I was still holding on to him.

"Is it resolved?" I asked, wondering What kind of problem a boy could have that takes 3 days to rectify.

"It's not a kind of situation that can necessarily be resolved. "

"Can you...tell me?" I asked looking into his eyes, guessing it was some sort of juicy gossip.

Sigh. "It's not in my authority or right to tell you to be honest. The time will come when he either tells you himself, or everyone simultaneously finds out." He looked down at me.

The bell rang and we went into class.

Today was a lab day, so we were doing an experiment. My lab partner is Juliana. We're the smartest two in the class, so we're paired together.

"Okay class, today you will, with your partners, conduct your lab experiments. It can be anything you would like, as long as it's scientific and challenging. You have until next week Monday at the beginning of class to determine your Independent and Dependent variable, as we'll as your hypothesis. Now get to work." Said Mr. Allen.

"So, any ideas?" Juliana asked me.

"Not at the moment really, but we need to do something really good to impress him." I said.

If it wasn't for Mr. Allen, I would be in an 11th grade science class, but he believed in me. He was the only teacher that didn't acuse me of cheating. I have to prove to him that he made the right decision to trust me.

She smiled. "You want to keep his trust. " It's like she read mind.

"I didn't read your mind. I don't think you cheated either. Why would one of the top students cheat on a final?" She said and put her hand on my shoulder.

Her gaze switched and she put her hand on her stomach.

"Juliana! Are you okay?" I panicked.

"I need-I need to go to the bathroom. I feel like I'm gonna throw up." She said standing up.

"Do you need me to come with you?" I asked, my heart was beating like a steel drum. Even though she just needed to throw up, something about the way she was acting made me uneasy.

"No...Thanks. Stay here and think of an experiment. I should probably go home. There's a...flu going around. I don't want you or anyone to catch it." She ran to the bathroom. Or the closest garbage.

Flu? Something isn't right.

I continued to think of an experiment like she told me. Keeping both of our grades up is probably the most I can do to help her.

Once class was over, I went up to Devin. He was just standing by the door looking more melancholy than usual.

"What's wrong? Are you okay?" I asked.

"I'm fine...it's nothing. I'll tell you another time." He stuttered.

"Does it have to do with Daniel? Or...does it have to do with Juliana?" I asked remembering that Juliana and Daniel are dating. I began putting two and two together.

"I told you, it's not in my right to tell you. Ask them. " he began walking away.

"So it does have to do with both of them..Just tell me what's going on!" I yelled, turning a few heads.

Devin turned around and walked towards me. With out eye contact he said, "Juliana got pregnant by Daniel. "
After he said it, his posture and his eyes relaxed. Is as if he didn't say it Im his own control. Like he was being forced.

"I-I don't know why I said that...I wasn't supposed to tell you." He panicked.

Did I just...control him? But I didn't speak into the mirror.

I took a peek into my bag and saw the mirror, glistening as if it was activated.

As long as it's on me...I can make Devin do What I want...

"It was probably too big of a secret to hide. I won't tell anyone. Nor will I tell him you told me." I said, astonished by my super power basically.

"I'll catch up with you later. " he said with confusion in his eyes.

That's why she threw up. Flu my ass.

This mirror may be a bit dangerous. Lucky for me, there's a 12 year old genius that came help me. Noran. She's only 12 but she's a senior in high-school. I'll meet with her during study hall. Of anyone knows anything about magic or science, or whatever it is, it's Noran.

Devin POV

It's happening again. Like I'm not the one controlling my body. First I ask Maddie out, then I tell her my bestfriend's biggest secret...Something is not right. There's only one person who can help me...Noran.
