I'm so glad all of that super natural stuff was over. I was hoping that I would wake up and it was just a dream and this ridiculous lifetime movie marathon would be over...but this is reality.

I barely got any sleep but I still went to school. After my mom realized I was home, she was so excited. Then she got really mad. All of a sudden she started balling. She told me to take the day off but I've already missed enough school.
-
Everything was back to normal. The mirror was destroyed and we were back home. Everything except the fact that Juliana is still pregnant, Genesis may move back here, and I hate Devin.

I purposefully went to class late so I wouldn't bump into Devin in the hallway or outside.

He seemed to have the same intentions.

Three minutes after the bell, I went to my locker to get my history book and Devin was standing there.

I paused for a second and he didn't see me yet. I was contemplating whether I should go over there or not. What would I say? Oh yea...nothing.

I went to my locker and pretended he wasn't there. I started unlocking my lock from the part he wasn't leaning over and pulled it as hard as I could to get him off. All of this with not one ounce of eye contact.

I took out the book and shut my locker.

"Maddie." He said grabbing my arm as I started to walk away.

I looked straight ahead, subtle tears rolling down my face.

"Is it always going to be like this? Will you ever forgive me? Will you ever even look at me again?!" He said.

I pulled my arm from out of his and stormed to my class, leaving him barren of any affection from me.

It won't be easy Dev. It's for the best.
-
"I don't know why he's making such an effort. He didn't even actually like me." I said to Vanessa while we were having lunch.

I told her the whole story about what happened. She believed me considering she knew about the mirror.

"Maybe he did. I mean you don't know for sure that the mirror was the only reason he went out with you." She said.

"It makes sense though. Why would he all of sudden like me and ask me out right after I get a mirror that can control him? Put two and two together. It wasn't real." I said, slamming my head on the lunch table.

"He was so rude about the whole mirror thing and said everything was my fault. I can't like such a person." I added.
"It may have just been in the moment. I bet he didn't mean it. He's apologized a lot and even texted and called me to get you to talk to him." Vanessa said.

"Screw him. He's just guilty after I told him off. If I didn't he wouldn't have said a thing. We would have came back and he'd be the one ignoring me. Better him being ignored than me." I said taking a bite of an apple.

"Maddie, I know you're hurt, but I'm sure being in that situation was overwhelming for all of you and he said some mean things-"

"Why are you taking his side?" I interrupted.

"I'm not I'm just saying-"

"Forget it. Guilty or not, the point is he never liked me and never will. If he starts liking me now, it's out of guilt. It can never be real. I'm going to the library. I have to print my essay." I said.

"Ugh...okay fine." She answered rolling her eyes.
-
I had already printed the essay at home since I'm a prepared student as usual, I just wanted a quiet place to clear my head.

"Hey Maddie." Daniel said walking towards me at the table I sat at.

"Hey. How's Juliana?" I asked remembering they were pregnant.

"She's good, no problems or anything. How are you though? Dev said you're ignoring him."

"Look, if you came here to talk to me about forgiving him, save your breath." I said rolling my eyes.

"Alright alright, fine. What do you wanna talk about then? I got a free period." He said sitting in the seat across from me at the table.

"Free period? Don't you have Spanish?" I asked.

"I dropped it. The teacher wasn't teaching us a thing. I'd learn more Spanish walking one street downtown than in that class. My mom is letting me do an online course." He said.

"For real? Tell me when you start so I can drop French." I laughed.

"There's that smile I haven't seen in a while. I see why Dev likes you so much. Well likes."

"What do you mean?"

"He was always bugging about your smile and how it lit up his whole day. He got suspicious about the relationship going so quickly but when he was around you it felt real. His words not mine." He said and opened a book and pretended to read.

He knew I would sit there and start cheesing so I'm glad he looked away.

"Stop gassing me. He's never told me this."

"You're ignoring him did you forget? When would he get the chance to tell you?"

"Ugh...forget it. I see what you're trying to do." I opened my book and actually started reading.

"Whatever. Suit yourself. Don't come running to my lips when you miss Dev. That kiss was a one time thing."

"I never mentioned it you hoe." I smacked him in the head with my book.

"Ohh yea there's a party at my house tonight, you better be there. If you don't come just because of your beef with Dev, Imma disown you." He got up and rubbed my head, messing up my hair and walked away.

"Where you going?" I asked realizing he was actually leaving.

"Spanish. I lied about the online course thing."

"Haha alright bye."

I sat there for a while. I had like 15 minutes till lunch was over.

Should I go to the party? Dev is obviously going to be there. Well I'll have to live with knowing he'll be around so hey why not.
