"Hey, play some music." Javon handed Valerie his phone. She didn't want to be in the front, but Jaden and Jayla assured her it was fine. Valerie played her own playlist, the first song being 'Ryd' by Steve Lacy (this song goes so hard.)
The rest of the drive was quite. Not awkward, everyone was doing their own thing. Valerie was mostly looking out the window bobbing her head to the music playing

"Hey! There you guys are!" "Hi i'm Jessica. You must be Valerie?" "Yes ma'am!" Valerie nodded her head and introduced herself with a hug as soon as Jessica spoke to her. Something the girl was taught. "Wow! You are beautiful! Javon chose a good one huh?" Jessica laughed, the joke made Valerie laugh, as she thought about her co-star/friend/kinda crush's mom thought she was beautiful. Her ego was definitely boosted 5%.
"Hi i'm Valerie!" Valerie introduced herself to Javons father. "Hey! I'm Dj." She shook his hand, a smile plastered on her face. "Can we eat, it's been forever." Daelo whined. Valerie chuckled, as well as everyone laughed. "Please, sit."
They all took their seats. Valerie in the middle of Daelo and Javon. "So, Valerie, what do you do for a living, besides acting?" Jessica wanted to get to know her better. By the way her son talks about her ALL the time. (I mean ALL the time.) So soon, she thought there was definitely something about her that was so special.
"Well besides acting I sing, with my brother and his band, and I make, paint, design all sorts of home decor. Just when i'm bored." Javon looked up from the menu he was holding when he heard the question his mom asked. "That is so cool! What kinds of stuff do you make?"
Javon kind of drowned out their conversation after that question. He just browsed the menu to see what he'd want. When he looked back up, Their conversation was over, and Valerie was looking down at her menu. Javon noticed the purple hoodie on Valerie looked familiar.
It was his. He thought it was cute and convenient that she'd worn it the day she was meeting his parents. He wondered if she knew it was his.
