“Yeah, right,”

The next morning, Meera woke up early, determined to make the most of her day. After getting dressed, she headed down to the hotel’s restaurant for breakfast.

To her annoyance, she spotted Sidharth sitting at a table near the window, his eyes lighting up when he saw her.

“Good morning, Miss Grumpy,” he called out as she approached.

“Do you have to call me that?” Meera asked, sliding into a seat opposite him.

“Would you prefer ‘Sunshine’?” he asked with a grin, winking at her.

Meera rolled her eyes. “Just call me Meera.”

“Alright, Meera,” Sidharth said, his tone surprisingly sincere. “What’s on your agenda for today?”

“I’m meeting my friend for some shopping,” she replied, picking up a menu.

“Sounds fun,” he said, leaning back in his chair. “Mind if I join you?”

“Yes, I do mind,” Meera said quickly.

Sidharth chuckled. “Relax, I’m just teasing. I have my own business to attend to. A meeting”

“Good,” Meera said, feeling a small sense of relief.

Despite the banter, Meera couldn’t help but notice the way Sidharth’s eyes softened when he looked at her, or the way his smile seemed to linger just a little longer than necessary.

After breakfast, they went their separate ways.

Sidharth's Pov

I walked back to my room after the breakfast. I had a very important meeting with some partners today. I was nervous to be honest since morning.

But I don't know my mood just lightened after teasing Meera. It was fun.

Author's POV

At the evening, Meera dressed up for Saanvi’s Sangeet, excited to see her friend and celebrate.

She was wearing a beautiful light green colored lehenga.

Her outfit:

She entered the grand hall, her eyes scanning the crowd until she spotted Sanvi.

“Meera! You made it!” Saanvi exclaimed, pulling her into a tight hug.

“Of course! aise kaise nhi aati! How could I miss it?” Meera replied, smiling widely.

“Come, meet my fiancé,” Saanvi said, dragging her across the room.

Saanvi’s fiancé, Rohan, greeted them with a warm smile. “Hi Meera, Its great to finally see you! Saanvi just wont stop talking about you haha”

“Nice to meet you, Rohan,” Meera said, shaking his hand.

Meera had never met Rohan properly. They have seen eachother on video calls before.

“And this,” Rohan continued, turning to the man standing next to him, “is my best friend, Sidharth.”

Meera’s smile froze. “You’ve got to be kidding me,” she muttered.

Meera’s Pov

"Why god why?!" I thought. I dont know how I always end up with this guy. His guts annoy me. He annoys me!

He looked quite handsome though. The color he was wearing wasn't something that would look good on just anyone. It was pretty. Damn his jawline. SHUT UP MEERA!!!

Sidharth looked equally shocked. “Tum phir se? Kya meri kismat itni kharab hai?”

“Clearly,” Meera shot back coming back to her senses.

Rohan looked between them, confused. “You two know each other?”

“You could say that,” Meera said through gritted teeth.

“We’ve had the pleasure of running into each other a few times,” Sidharth said sarcastically.

Saanvi glanced at Meera, worried. “Meera, sab thik hai?”

“Haan, haan. Sab thik hai,” Meera said, forcing a smile. “Let’s just enjoy the evening.”

As the night went on, Meera tried to avoid Sidharth, but it seemed fate had other plans. Every time she turned around, there he was, smirking at her.

During a quiet moment, Sidharth approached her. “Toh, kya soch rahi hai aap?”

“Aapke baare mein bilkul bhi nahi,” Meera snapped.

“Chill, Meera. Main sirf baat karne ki koshish kar raha hoon,” he said, raising his hands in mock surrender.

“Achha? Aur kya baat karni hai aapko?” she asked, crossing her arms.

“Why do you hate me so much?” Sidharth asked, his tone suddenly serious.

“Hate is a strong word. I just find you extremely annoying,” Meera replied.

“Annoying? Main toh sirf friendly hoon,” Sidharth said, looking genuinely puzzled.

“Friendly? flirting friendly lagta hai aapko?” Meera said, rolling her eyes.

“Arre yaar, flirting thoda sa kar leta hoon. Big deal,” he said with a shrug.

“It’s not just the flirting, Sidharth. You’re always so... full of yourself,” Meera said.

“Full of myself? Main toh bas confident hoon and FYI we have hardly met few times, aren't you too quick to judge?” he countered.

“Confident? There’s a fine line between confidence and arrogance, and you crossed it long ago,” Meera retorted.

“Okay, okay. Let’s call a truce for tonight. Saanvi aur Rohan ka special night hai. We shouldn’t ruin it,” Sidharth suggested.

“Fine. Truce,” Meera agreed reluctantly.

"Mei itna bhi bura nhi hu Meera"
