"Mein itna bhi bura nhi hu Meera"

Sidharth walked away, a hint of sadness visible in this eyes.

They returned to the party, both making an effort to keep their bickering to a minimum. As the evening progressed, they found themselves paired up for a dance.

"Seriously?" Meera said as Sidharth took her hand.

"It's just a dance, Meera. Relax," Sidharth said, pulling her closer. "May I?" he asked before holding her waist and she nodded.

They moved to the music, an uncomfortable silence hanging between them.

But as the song continued, Meera couldn't help but notice how naturally they moved together.

Sidharth's hand rested on Meera's waist, his touch sending a shiver down her spine. Meera tried to focus on the music, but the tension between them was palpable.

"Maybe you're not so bad on the dance floor," Meera admitted reluctantly.

"Thanks, I think," Sidharth replied, a hint of a smile playing on his lips.

As the song continued, Sidharth's grip tightened slightly, pulling Meera closer.

She could feel his breath on her neck, and it was becoming increasingly difficult to ignore the chemistry between them.

"Sidharth, w..what are you doing?" Meera whispered, her voice barely audible over the music.

"Just enjoying the moment, Meera. I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable though..do you mind?" he murmured back.

Meera's heart raced. She hated how her body reacted to him, how his mere presence could send her thoughts in dilemma.

His fingers brushed lightly against her back, and she involuntarily leaned into his touch.

"Problem toh hai, par...," she trailed off, unable to finish her sentence.

"Par kya?" he asked, his lips dangerously close to her ear.

"Par kuch nahi," she muttered, trying to regain her composure.

Meera's POV

I dont know what the hell was happening to me. He whispered near my ear. I was so nervous.

It felt like I have lost control over my senses. As we continued to sway to the music, our bodies in sync despite the tension.

I dont think it was just me who felt it. Right?

My arms without any control wrapped around his neck.

Sidharth's POV
To be honest.. I have no fucking idea what am I doing. Yes I'm flirty and joke a lot but, I never do anything else other than talking.

I have no idea where this confidence is coming from. I just know that this woman right in front of me has to be the most gorgeous girl I have ever seen.

I couldn't help but stare at her everytime she passes, she's just so...so breathtaking.

Author's POV
Sidharth's hand slid up her back, resting just below her shoulder blades. Meera's breath hitched, and she glanced up at him, their eyes locking.

She saw him smirking, making her smile unknowingly.
"Aap hamesha itne irritating kyun hote ho?" she asked, her voice shaking slightly.

"Irritating? I'm just honest. Kuch chhupata nahi," he replied, his gaze intense.

Sidharth's thumb brushed against her cheek, and Meera's resolve weakened. She hated how he made her feel, how he could so effortlessly break through her defenses.

"Maybe some things are better left unsaid," she countered, her eyes never leaving his.

The song ended, and the spell was broken. Meera stepped back, putting some distance between them.

As Meera turned to leave, leaving their conversation, she felt Sidharth's hand gently grasp her wrist, pulling her back. She spun around, her heart pounding in her chest.

"Shayad. Lekin kabhi kabhi sach bolna zaroori hota hai," he said softly continuing it, his eyes searching hers.

"Like what?" she challenged, her voice barely a whisper.

"Like how beautiful you look tonight," he replied, his tone sincere.

Meera's breath caught in her throat. For a moment, the world around them disappeared, and it was just the two of them, lost in each other's eyes.

"Shut up" she asked, her voice barely a whisper, smiling a bit at his compliment. Her cheeks red.

He smiled, a playful glint in his eyes. "You know, you're even more beautiful when you're flustered."

"Aapka problem kya hai?" Meera said, trying to sound annoyed but failing miserably.

"Problem? Mere toh koi problem nahi hai. Main bas aapko bol raha tha aap aaj raat hadd se zyada khoobsurat lag rahi hai," he said again.

Meera felt her cheeks heat up. "Stop it, Sidharth."

"Why? Can't handle a little compliment?" he teased, his thumb gently brushing against her wrist.

"Flirting band karo," she muttered, trying to pull her hand away.

"Flirting? Main toh bas sach bol raha hoon," he said, his grin widening.

"Aap ko mujhe irritate karna kyun pasand hai?" she asked, unable to keep the smile from her lips.

"Because I love seeing you like this," he replied, his tone softening.

"Like what?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.

"Vulnerable. Real. Not just the grumpy Meera who hates my guts," he said, his eyes locking onto hers.

"I dont get you, Sidharth," she said, shaking her head.
