Rebecca Harley had gone stiff as a board as soon as Sidney had told her what had happened while she was otherwise engaged the night before. How that sick copycat had struck again as she'd been dragged away by Randy to his apartment. Randy, though shocked himself, had immediately sought to draw her into his embrace, her back resting against his chest. Though Sid sent the two a questioning glance, she did not comment on the action. A much different one from their previously frosty interactions.
"And Cindy?" Becca feared for the answer but knew she must force her unwilling ears.
Sidney shook her head, but upon seeing Becca's crestfallen face, she immediately went to rectify the misunderstanding. "No, she wasn't hurt! Well, not badly, a small nick from the copycat's knife when she tried to save me from Ghostface."
She let out a deep sigh of relief, desperately trying to quell her swirling thoughts.
"Randy, talk."
He gazed down at her with furrowed brows. "What? Why?"
"Just talk; I can't... I can't be alone with my thoughts. I can't linger in silence. I can't-"
"Did you know that the films Silence of the Lambs, Psycho and Texas Chainsaw Massacre were all inspired by the very real-" He started with a natural fun fact that he knew inside out, gently swaying with Becca in his arms.
"Not about that, Randy, por favor."
"Ok umm... Remember the first time we met?"
Becca smiled fondly at the memory. "Yes, when you nearly ran me over."
"I did not! Whatever. I thought in that moment that you were the prettiest person I'd ever seen, and I'd watched Jamie Lee Curtis."
"Really?"
"Yeah! I was so happy that you actually talked to me after I had fumbled my parking."
"I was asking for directions." She deadpanned.
He smiled at her sheepishly and said, "Yeah, well, you were—still are—way outta my league."
"Ray, what have I said about lying?" In contrast to her previously morose expression, Becca now had a teasing smile once again on her face, which made Randy reciprocate full-heartedly and made him feel almost light-headed with happiness.
"Becca, you are completely gorgeous inside and out; someone has to balance that in our... relationship?"
"You keep talking like that, Ray, and I might have to actually admit that I actually like you."
Randy just smirked down at her, not even bothering to lower his voice as he said, "Don't worry, from the sounds of last night, I know you like me. In fact, you like me a lot."
A blush crept up Becca's face. She quickly slapped a hand over his mouth (although they both knew it was too late) and hissed at him, "Randy Meeks!"
Sidney gasped, staring wide-eyed at the two. "You two did not!!"
