The three of us traipse out to the car. Jasper gets into the driver's seat, Ana sits in the passenger seat, and Jackson and I sit in the back.
After a while, I doze off. I wake up when Jackson shakes me gently.
"What?" I ask, my voice thick with sleep.
"We're here." He says, a little tense.
We all get out of the car, and are immediately surrounded by big, burly men. The one in the front is in charge of the brigade.
"Follow me." He orders and starts walking.
We follow him to a big building, and down a hallway until we get to a door that he knocks on.
"Come in." A rich, deep voice calls from inside.
The man we were following opens the door and ushers us in. "Alpha, the Vampires and human are here to meet with you." His head is bowed in respect to the man behind the desk.
"Thank you Dennis. Go and spend some time with Parker. Your dad and I can handle it." The Alpha says kindly.
"Thank you, Alpha." Dennis bows his head again and leaves.
"Jackie! Jas! Feels like ages since I've seen you! You've hardly changed!" The Alpha grins at Jackson and Jasper.
"Can't say the same for you, Richie!" Jasper laughs. "You've got a family, a Pack, and good gracious! Is that a beard?!"
The Alpha laughs. "Yes, I've gotten a bit older. My daughter is almost ready to take over." He smiles fondly. "But I don't think that's the reason you've come to visit, is it?" He eyes Jackson, who has yet to smile at his old friend.
"Sharp as ever, Richard." He says, a slight smile on his face. "The truth is, we need your help. Do you remember a long time ago, I told you about Sirens?"
The Alpha thinks for a moment. "Yes. They're somewhat similar to a Wolf's Mate, right?"
"Somewhat, yes." Jackson says. "The difference being that once Mated, a Wolf's Mate is completely off limits. A Siren, however... Their blood is like a drug. To their intended Vampire, it's a delicious, filling meal. For anyone else, it's like a drug they can't get enough of." He looks at me. "Carmen is my Siren. And my creator is a hunter of Sirens."
"I see." The Alpha says simply. "And who are you, young lady?" He says looking at Ana.
"I'm Carmen's mother. Jackson's creator also turned me forcibly eleven years ago." Ana says, a slight tremor in her voice.
"You poor dear." The Alpha says, solemnly. "Samuel, what is your opinion, as my Beta?"
"Alpha Jenkins, my opinion, such that it is, is that we could use their strength as well when we enact our plan. I see no reason not to induct them." The man, Samuel says.
"What plan do you have?" Jackson narrows his eyes at Alpha Jenkins.
"My son, Shay. One of his Mates was from the Northern Mountain Pack, along with Samuel's son's Mate. We have a suspicion they will attack to either kill them or take them back. So, we need additional strength to fight them and ultimately decimate their Pack." Alpha Jenkins says, his voice heavy with authority.
"Alright." Jackson says after a moment. "Induct us, and we'll have no reason to not help you."
"I have a question." My voice is so small compared to everyone else.
"Yes, Carmen?" Alpha Jenkins asks, smiling at me kindly.
"What about our other friends? They're human, like me." I say, thinking of Izzy and Oscar.
