I wake up the next morning with puffy, red eyes. I haven't looked in the mirror yet, but I can feel it. I did cry myself to sleep, so that's expected. I shift a little, rubbing my eyes. I slept in Jackson's shirt that happened to be my favorite one to see him in. I think he knew that when he packed it for me.
I sniff a little, and drag myself out of bed. I make my way to the bathroom and do my morning routine and go down to the kitchen to get some coffee.
"Morning." I mutter to whoever is in the kitchen. I don't pay the slightest bit of attention. I just want my coffee, then breakfast. And at some point today, I'm hoping for my Vampire to come home.
I shuffle about, getting my coffee, and rummaging through the cupboards looking for cereal. Someone hands me a box.
"Thanks." I mutter.
I continue milling about, getting a bowl and digging out milk and getting some poured out. I sit down and start eating. I make it through my bowl and drink my coffee, before I finally feel awake.
"Awake now?" A quiet voice says next to me.
"Mm." I hum. I finally look at the other person in the kitchen. My eyes widen. "JACKSON!" I scream, leaping onto him.
"Hi, Kitten." He chuckles. "I take it you missed me."
"So much!" I whine in his neck. My arms wind around his shoulders. I can't stop the tears from escaping my eyes. "I missed you so much."
"I missed you too, Kitten." He wraps his strong arms around me.
"Did you get hurt?" I ask, pulling back to look at him.
"Nope." He grins softly. "But thank you for worrying about me."
"I will always worry about you." I say softly, looking into his eyes. I watch him carefully. "Are you... Are you thirsty?" I ask in a small voice.
He hums, lightly rubbing my back. "No, I'm okay. Jackson gave me a bag before we left."
"I'm glad you're doing okay, J." I smile at him.
"J, huh?" He grins.
"Well, you call me 'Kitten,' 'Love,' and 'Baby.' I want a nickname to call you..." I pout at him.
"I love it." He kisses my cheek.
"I want to ask you about something when we get home. I don't want to talk about it here... Because of Peter's hearing... And I'm sure Jasper's is pretty good too." I say shyly.
"Okay, Kitten." He smiles at me.
"How's Jasper? How's the Warriors that went with?" I ask him, wanting to know how things went.
"Jasper is fine. Everyone from this Pack is fine." He says, leaning against the back of the chair. "It was a bit chaotic, but overall, we were successful."
"Chaotic?" I ask.
"Yeah." He sighs. "So, we got there, and we had some people with walkies, since Jasper and I don't have the 'mind link' that the Pack does. So some Wolves had to stay in their human form. But it worked out okay. We thought we'd attack one specific building, but then Ethan got on the radio and told us not to. In the end, everything worked out. We got Shay and Taylor back." I have no idea who these people are, but I love listening to him. "We got everyone back safely, and even brought back some Wolves that decided to defect. Essentially, we decimated that Pack."
"I'm glad everyone is okay." I hug him close to me. "Especially you."
"Me too, Kitten." He chuckles.
