Throughout Language Arts, I find it difficult to pay attention. Even though it's my favorite subject in school. But my mind keeps straying back to Jackson and his ridiculous story. But also, that kiss. Ugh, that kiss. I loved it. I wanted more. I want more. But the rest of it... Just sounds absolutely ridiculous.

The distraction is so bad that I don't even notice the time until the bell rings.

"Yo, Carmen!" I hear Izzy's voice, pulling me back to reality.

"Shit!" I curse under my breath, to find an empty classroom. Everyone is waiting for me. Izzy, Oscar, Jasper, and of course Jackson. "Sorry, I guess my mind wandered." I blush as I peek at Jackson.

"Wonder what was on your mind?" He teases.

"Shut up." I groan. "Anyways, is everyone ready to go?" I say standing up.

"Yep! I call shotgun!" Oscar cheers.

Jasper chuckles. "That's given, Babe. You'll always get shotgun in my car." He pecks Oscar on the cheek and takes his hand as they walk out of the classroom.

Izzy and I are walking slightly behind Jackson.

"Ugh, couples." She groans. Then she smirks at me. "You're no better, you know."

"What are you talking about, Iz?" I look at her confused.

"Don't think I don't see how you've been eyeing Dante." She snickers.

"I - you - WHAT?! I don't look at him!" I shriek.

"Oh, but you do, Kitten." Jackson chuckles, opening the back door for me to climb in.

"You're not helping." I huff as I sit in the middle of the backseat.

"Oh, he's coming too? Okay." Jasper comments from the driver's seat as he starts the car.

"Yeah, we made a deal in gym class, but of course I beat them." Jackson looks pleased with himself.

"Whatever." I huff. "You can pay for dinner then." I smirk. If he's even remotely telling me the truth, he's got enough money for a small country in his name.

"That's fair." He grins back at me.

The ride to my house is filled with nonsense. Jasper, Oscar, and Izzy all bombard Jackson with nonsense questions and scenarios. I'm just hoping that Ana is in a good mood when we get there.

But, as my luck holds out, Jennifer's car is in the driveway.

"Fuck." I curse under my breath. "What is she doing here?" I growl. "Outta my way, Iz." I gently nudge her to get out of my way as I crawl out of the car.

I stomp my way to the front door, and hear shouting from inside. I open the door, just as Ana is demanding her to leave.

"Get the FUCK out, Jennifer! Now! I told you before-" Ana is shouting at Jennifer.

"But-" Jennifer tries.

"No 'buts.' Get out. Now." I snarl. "No one wants you here. Leave. Never come back. Or I swear to god, I'll kill you."

"You ungrateful little-" Jennifer's words are cut off by my humorless laughter.

"What do I have to be grateful for? Parents that pretend we don't exist? A host of anxiety issues?" I sneer at her. "Oh, I know! How about the fact that you have never ONCE supported me the way Ana does?!" My tears are free falling at this point.

"Ch-"

"Don't you DARE call me that!" I scream at her.

"I just-"
