I chuckle to myself, watching my hungover Vampire sluggishly pull himself around the room.
"Kitten, please." He groans. "Not so loud."
"It's your own fault you know." I giggle.
"What?" He turns to me. "How?"
"You're the one who decided to get absolutely plastered with my father. I didn't know Siren Wine was so strong that it incapacitates a Vampire." I chuckle as I get out of bed.
Jackson groans and looks through his suitcase. "Ah! Found them!" He says happily, sliding on a pair of sunglasses.
"Why do you have sunglasses?" I giggle.
"It's too bright." He groans. "Now, let's go find you some breakfast."
"Okay!" I chuckle, taking his hand and walking out of our room.
We get to the dining hall and find my father, Alistair gripping his head. Next to him, Beverly sat with an amused expression. Looking around the room, I see George and Jake also gripping their heads.
"Looks like you aren't the only one suffering." I chuckle to Jackson as we sit down.
"Carmen, I love you." He groans. "But please, lower your voice."
I just giggle and help myself to the food in front of me. We make it through the morning feast, and afterwards I go in search of Alistair. Only to get my arm caught by Calvin.
"Dad said to take you with me to my class." He says, linking our arms together. "It's a beginner's class on Siren Powers. He said that would be a good place to get you started."
"Sounds good to me!" I chuckle, following his lead. "See you later, J!" I call to Jackson as Calvin leads me away.
We walk down the corridor to a classroom filled with young kids. I think besides myself, obviously, Calvin is probably the oldest one here. The rest look to be around ten or eleven.
"Hey, Cal." I lean down to him. "How old are most of these kids?"
"Eh, they're like... Eleven?" He shrugs. "I don't really know. Or care to be honest. I was a bit of a late bloomer with my powers. So, dad had me put in this class. It's my second week here, so I think we'll be okay." He winks at me.
"I got your back, if you got mine." I wink back. "Is Sasha in another class?" I look around the room, trying to find some kind of order in the chaos.
"Yeah, she's in the intermediate class." Calvin says as he plops down on a chair by a pair of desks. "She graduated from this class years ago."
"Oh." I say, sitting in the chair next to him. "Well, you and I are going to rock this class. Eh pal?" I nudge his arm.
"You're darn right!" He nudges me back.
"Alright! Everyone sit!" An adult enters the room, and the kids listen. Two of them try to pout because apparently Calvin and I took the seats they wanted. "Aurora, Helen, you had plenty of time to find seats."
"But we wanted those ones!" One of the girls whines.
"Well, you snooze, you lose." Calvin snickers.
"Calvin." The adult sighs. "Girls, just pick a seat. In the next six seconds, or I'm warping your parents in."
The girls eagerly find seats apart from each other to their dismay.
"Thank you." The adult says tiredly. "Now, we have a new student in our class. I expect you all to be kind and welcoming. Prince Carmen, welcome to Beginner's Siren Magic Class. I'm Mr. Heling."
