Twenty Two

"What the hell?! Let me see my girlfriend you idiot",

a lot of commotion sounds in the hallway.

You've got to be kidding me.

"Sir, you can't go in there, I've been told not to let you through",

a softer female voice sounds.

"By whom?! That idiot May?! If anything she should be the one banned from seeing Sabrina, she's making her sick!",

ouch great, this again.

"Sir, I need you to calm down or I'll call security".

"Go ahead, I'll wait here",

before we know it Trent comes stumbling in.

Secretly it brings me joy, he just walked into a trap.

"Hee Brina baby, gosh I'm so glad you're okay, what happened? Did she hurt you again?",

okay now he's getting on my very last nerve.

Pretending he doesn't know what he did is one thing but putting the blame on me?! Ouch no way dude, that goes beyond too far!

"Trent you're here! I knew you'd come! Please tell them you'd never hurt me! They think you did this to me but it's not true is it?",

Sabrina hugs Trent tight.

"Of course I would never, I love you Brina baby you're my favorite little person",

he rubs over her head.

He is a creepy good actor, I have to give him that.

Eva and I exchange a look as Sabrina keeps Trent busy.

"Yes, you did. It's over Trent",

I then say, my tone low and cold.

Trent looks at me, then at Eva and back at Sabrina.

That's when he realizes, he's just signed himself up for prison.

"Trent Miller? You're under arrest for sexual assault, abuse, and attempt to murder. Everything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law, you have the right to remain silent and I'd advice you to get your best lawyer",

Eva takes out her handcuffs.

"What are you doing?! Eva stop! He is innocent!",

Sabrina is still defending Trent.

"Yeah Eva, stop or else I'll make it full murder",

Trent takes out a syringe and injects Sabrina with it.

She immediately loses consciousness.

Fuck what did he inject her with?! Is it poison?! Why is he still after her?!

"Trent what the heck was that?",

Eva takes out her gun and points it towards him.

"Ouch don't worry it's just sleepy juice. I won't kill her... yet",

the nastiest grin appears on his face.

"Look if you'd just let me have Sabrina and go away with her safely she won't have to die",

is he for real?!

"Why?! What's your obsession with her?!",

I yell.

"You would know, you have it too",

my heart drops as Trent looks directly into my soul.

What does he mean by that?! Am I obsessed? No May! That's ridiculous! There's a difference between loving and caring and being obsessed.

"In fact, you're the whole reason we're in this mess, you've caused it, the second you laid eyes on my girl is when you took away her quality of life",

Trent has gone fully insane.

"W... what do you mean",

I stammer.

"You wanted her, from the first moment we met I could tell you did. She wants you back but she knows she's mine. She'll always be mine because if I can't have her no one can",

something insides me snaps hard.

Suddenly everything in front of my eyes becomes black. Next thing I know I'm beating Trent the fuck up. My fists dislocate his jaw and my knee stomps him right in the nuts.

"You stay the hell away from Sabrina! She isn't yours and you have no right to hurt her like this leave her alone!",

I jell.

All the cropped up anger comes out as I keep on beating Trent.

"May stop! Stop it! Stop!",

Eva runs up to me, her voice sounds distance.

It all goes through me, I can't stop beating. My knuckles become red and that's when it hits me what I'm doing. Holy shit, is this me? What was I thinking?! I stare at my bloody hands in shock.

Another body seats next to me, a pair of arms grabs my hands and pulls me off of Trent.

"It's okay",

a known voice says.

"We've got him, it's over",

the arms holding me now wraps around me.

Suddenly Trent gets up and approaches me, a hand wraps around my neck and squeezes it tight. I'm trying to fight it but I'm too weak, he's too strong. That and the lack of oxygen is already messing with my head.

My vision gets even more blurry and the noises even more distance then before.

"You did this! This is all your fault",

Trent voice sounds distance.

He's the one choking me.

So what? He's gonna kill me now?

Fuck!

He's actually killing me! I can't breath!

I wanna scream for help but all I'm capable off is gasping for air.

Luckily I'm not alone. Eva immediately jumps on him and makes him stop. The grip around my neck finally loosens. That was terrifying, for a moment I already started to black out.

I let myself fall against the person still sitting next to me while coughing and burst into even more tears. All I'm able to do is cry.

Everything still sounds distance and my vision remains blurry.

Meanwhile a blurry figure grabs another blurry figure. Two distance snaps sounds and the figure gets dragged out of the room. It must be Eva handcuffing Trent, at last he's gone, I'm safe. I'm also exhausted, still I can't give in.

No one has yet made sure Sabrina is okay, what did Trent inject her with? As I tilt my head to the right I notice someone standing over her, it's a nurse. Ouch thank god.

Now I finally feel at ease.

My guard can finally be let down.

My eyes slowly close while everything fades away.
