Naina helped Rajveer with all the arrangements. She called the decorators to arrange the party decorations and then made a call to order his cake. Unsure what to order, she texted him to ask about his favorite cake. His reply was simply 'whatever your favorite is'. This made her blush slightly. She decided on a chocolate cake with lots of chocolate toppings.
With this she ended her day and packed up for home .
At party
she wore a full-length white dress with floral designs, her hair open and slightly curly. She entered with a sparkle in her eyes, taking in the decorations—a dance stage on the left, a drink counter on the right, and a food counter straight ahead. The place was adorned with balloons and banners, not quite kid-themed .
Naina's observations were interrupted by Shreya, her office friend, tapping her on the back, exclaiming, 'OMG, you look so pretty!' Naina smiled, replying, 'Not as pretty as you, Shreyu.' They giggled, and Shreya suggested hitting the dance floor together.
'I want to wish Rajveer first,' Naina said.
Okay, let's find him!' Shreya replied excitedly.
'Are you both looking for me?' Rajveer appeared suddenly, having seen Naina and himself growing closer over these days. 'Yes, sir,' Naina said, offering a handshake.
'Oh, come on, don't call me sir at my own party, Naina,' Rajveer teased, rolling his eyes. They both giggled.
'Okay, fine, but I can't call you by your first name either; it feels unprofessional,' she replied.
'Call me Veer then,' Rajveer suggested, winking.
Naina was taken aback by his sudden informality but agreed.
'Okay, okay. Happiest birthday, Veer,' she said, shaking his hand.
'Are you not going to dance?' Rajveer asked, gesturing towards the stage.'
No, Veer, I'm not much of a party girl. I'll stay here and watch,' Naina replied, settling onto a nearby couch.
'That's okay; I'm not big on dancing either. There's still half an hour until the cake cutting,' Rajveer said, before being interrupted by someone else.
Naina watched him walk off with his friends, chuckling. Then a guy caught her eye as he entered. He was handsome in a black suit, though something seemed off—maybe he rarely smiled. She wondered why he was at Rajveer's party but quickly diverted her attention.
Feeling a bit uneasy alone, she decided to step outside for a moment. Remembering Rajveer's request for her to be present during the cake cutting, she found Shreya.
I'm stepping out for a while; text me when Rajveer is about to cut the cake,' Naina said.'
'Okay, don't worry; I'll let you know,' Shreya replied, heading back to the dance floor.
Outside
Outside, Naina sat on a bench, reflecting on recent events. She noticed someone sitting at the other end, but couldn't see his face. She turned away, but then felt a sudden craving for ice cream—something she always wanted when sad. She scanned around for an ice cream shop.
Meanwhile, Advait wondered why Naina wasn't around. He turned and noticed his PA talking to a guy outside. Curious, he strained to see who it was, barely able to make out their faces in the dim light between shops
"I already asked her to go home after helping rajveer out for this party but whom she's talking now , right after leaving party? I want to see who is this guy but they're talking on a way/road between two shops . The lights were barely reaching on their faces . "
Suddenly, he recognized the guy and his eyes widened. He started to get up, and that's when..."
